{SAM'S POV}

"What deal?" I stepped back.

"I can't say. Not now." He whispered.

It had been hours of waiting for Devyn to get out of surgery.

"Sam?" A doctor walked up to me.

"Yeah." I stood up.

"Devyn is doing fine but we can't fix the marks. If you know something you need to let me know." The doctor paused waiting for me to say something.

"I know as much as you do." I said and sat down as he walked away.

I waited for Devyn to get out of surgery and then about another hour before going in and bombarding her with questions. I watched the clock as the time slowly passed by until it finally hit 6:00 p.m.

I started rushing into the room and slowed down with every step I took. I set my hand on the silver knob and opened the door. She looked over at me with red eyes and a stuffy nose.

"Hey." I said quietly.

"Hey." She smiled.

I walked in and shut the door behind me. I had so many questions out of anger, but I wasn't sure if I was even angry with her.

"You look tired and may even feel sick, but I am clueless of what's going on. There is something going on with you and while you were in surgery some boy came looking for you and showed me his back. If this is some kind of joke Devyn. It's over-"

"Did this boy have brunette hair and hazel eyes?" I was cut off.

"Yeah why?" I questioned.

"What was on his back?" She interrogated.

"Three marks. I-I don't know it-it was red and swollen. What is this Devyn? I think I deserve an answer!" I stuttered a bit.

"I told you about this boy who made my life a living hell. This entire time I have been hallucinating. He isn't real. He told me and Jace that if we gave him just one day of sleeping he could kill himself an we would no longer see him again. We both did as he said. These gashes on my back are the price, but after a couple days we will no longer be able to remember him and hopefully by then these marks will be gone. Until then I have to learn to live with it."

"I didn't only do this for me." She whispered her eyes tearing up.

"I did this for us." She sniffled.

"Devyn. You lied to me."

"And you cheated on me." She filled herself with anger.

"I didn't remember at first, but when you set your hand on my cheek and I touched you my visions were sketchy, but I had an idea of what had happened. I couldn't move on if I could barely remember what happened." She stated.

"Do you remember clearly?" I asked.

"Chrystal." She admitted.

"I'm sorry." I said as I sat beside her.

"No! I am! I am so sorry for everything." She took my hand.

"I forgive you." I said.

She sat up and hugged me tightly.

I squeezed her tightly in my arms until she hissed in pain.

"Sorry." I released my grip.

"Just hug me." She rested her head on my shoulder.

I hugged her once more but gently this time.

"Devyn?" A nurse walked in.

"Yeah?" She responded.

"May I speak to you alone?" She questioned.

"Yeah, of course!" She smiled.

I got up and walked outside and sat by the door.

{DEVYN'S POV}

"Devyn." She started.

"These marks on your back aren't normal. We need an explanation of all of this so that we can understand everything." She stood by my bed.

"I have been hallucinating and he paid me a visit-"

"Who did?"

"James. The person who has been in my hallucinations."

She clicked her pen and wrote something down.

"Anyways when he visited me he said that I could forget him in a week if I could sleep for a day. Little did I know this was going to happen but he would die if I could no longer remember him and that's what he wanted. He wanted to die. So I slept all day yesterday and I could feel him rub something on my back and when I woke up this was there."

"So Devyn. It is my understanding that there is another patient here seeing everything you are?" She put her clipboard down.

"Yes. His name is Jace."

"Right. So I have been speaking to the doctor about this and since there is another witness that has experienced this and we have proof on your back that we will release you once your back is close to healed."
