I ran over to LadyBug, but I feared I was too late. The blood had only grew larger, and she became paler.
Her eyes were closed and she looked fragile.
I picked her up in my arms, but to find another shock of pain go down my back. But I didn't let go of her. I held her close, and tried to stand while carrying her.
"Ah!" Another wash of pain, and I was back down.
I tried one more time, and I was able to stand, but walking was difficult. I tried as fast as I could to get to the hosbital, or a crowd to notice us and call an ambulance.
"Claws... in." I managed to spill.
Suddenly, I found the main street in time. Because right when I stepped on the sidewalk, my spine couldn't hold together any longer, and I fell, fading into darkness while hearing loud sirens.
(TIMESKIP~)
Chattering, wheels, footsteps, metal clinging against other metal. It was all loud, including the monitor when it beeped. My mind was blank, and I felt numb. I felt like I couldn't move either. The only thing I could turn, was my head.
I looked to my left, and I saw Marinette sharing the same battle wound as LadyBug, and in the same condition.
Mari was out cold, but I could see her moniter telling she was alright, and her heart was still beating.
The memories of the battle with Hawk Moth slowly started coming back. It felt like we were just there. Maybe so. But who knows how long me and Marinette have been unconscious.
A doctor suddenly walked in, and she wore navy blue scrubs with a white lab coat. Her name tag said her name was DR. Edricks, and her tag displayed a photo that seemed to be taken when she was much younger. Her brown hair was more faded now, and a couple of wrinkles were peasant on the corner of her brown dark eyes.
"Looks like you woke up. How are you feeling, Adrien?" She slipped a few paper files in a file holder against the wall before she walked over to me.
"I-I'm fine..." I looked back over to Marinette. "How long have we been here?"
"Almost a week. You both took critical damage... We had to rush you both to the surgery room... Your spine was cracked very badly, and your friends liver was stabbed. It wasn't enough to kill her, but... It'll be time before she fully recovers, including you. Your fracture almost made you paralysed. But, It'll take at most 4 months." She sighed, "What exactly happend... Mr. Agreste."
I tried to clear my head and think of an explanation from that day. Difficult, but succusful. "Alley way... some thugs... I don't remember much..."
"I see... Well, then. I'll report it to the police officer. Would you mind if he ask a few questions or do you need some time?" She said softly.
"I don't mind." I honestly wanted to get it all over with. And it was the only thing I could do besides lay around on the bed, staring at LadyBug and seeing what I put her through.
The doctor left, and I was alone again. My thoughts filled the silence, and more memories of that day filled in.
I hated myself. Because I was the one who suggested to take Hawk Moth down. It was me who wanted revenge, and it got LadyBug hurt. It got someone I loved, hurt. And now to know LadyBug is Marinette, was more heart breaking. Marinette was sweet innocent girl, and to see someone as cheerful and clumsy as herself here, devastated me, especially because I was the cause of it all. I felt like I was the one to stab LadyBug. Not Hawk Moth.
I could just imagine her telling me, "It wasn't your fault." And, "Everyone makes mistakes." Although it would be nice to hear her voice, but I wouldn't believe her. Even if she could make me believe, it would always haunt me until the day I died.
"Man, you survived some incredible injuries. Pretty destructive If I don't say so myself." Plagg suddenly appeared and floated beside me.
I huffed in a form of a chuckle, "destructive indeed..."
"It's not your fault you know... You did what you had to do. He had to be stopped." Plagg mumbled.
My thoughts looked for an answer. To defeat his thought and perspective of the situation. But they interrupted by the beeps for Marinette's monitor started to go quicker, and quicker.
My eyes widened, panic rushing through me. The doctors and nurses ran in and talking back and forth to do CPR. And Plagg hid.
"Marinette!" I tried standing but DR. Ericka ran over to keep me down.
Edricks
"Sir, you need to stay here. We're taking care of it. She'll be alrigt." She firmly said.
I watched as they did CPR. I wanted to stand, walk over there and help her. But moving standing was far from what I could do right now. And even if, what could I do more then they could?
Parts of me told me to stand and ignore the consequences. Others told me that I'd just cause more danger.
I heard closley of the moniter, waiting for her heart to go back to normal. They rushed to get her back to normal. Lots of medcine were injected into her IVs and then they'd try to do CPR.
Then, the beeps went back to normal. I was relieved, but scared at the same time. Scared if it would now happen again."
