Tribes:

Hamilton- Burr, Hamilton, Eliza, Theodosia, King George, Angelica, Peggy, Maria Reynolds, Lafayette, Philip

In The Heights- Nina, Benny, Vanessa, Usnavi, Sonny, Graffiti Pete, Abuela, Carla, Piragua, Camila

The sun rises over the woods. We see an island as Jeff Probst begins to speak. "We are here in the US Virgin Islands. This season, Survivor is being hosted in a property owned by the USA. It has rocky beaches, rough waters and many forests. It is the place where twenty characters in musicals written by Lin-Manuel Miranda will be stranded for up to 39 days. They will have nothing but one bag of beans and rice, a machete, and the clothes on their back. It is the ultimate social experiment on television."

Jeff is standing on a rocky cliff on a tiny island. "Thirty-nine days! Twenty people! ONE Survivor!" The camera zooms out as the first season of Survivor officially begins.

The characters are seen in rowboats coming toward the island. The first confessional is given to Nina. "This is exciting. I'm so nervous, though. I've been preparing for months, and I want to win. But seeing everyone around me... I don't know. There's my boyfriend, Benny. My mother, Camila. And my Abuela. This could be interesting."

As they step off, Lafayette gets a confessional. "I'mtakingthisgamebythereinsknockingouteveryoneasfastasIcan. No, really, I'm willing to do anything to win, even if it means voting Hamilton over there out. But... I don't want to do that unless I have to."

"Welcome to Survivor: Musicals!" Everyone cheers loudly. Usnavi gets a confessional. "I am Usnavi and by now you've probably heard my name. Especially if you're watching this. This season of Survivor where I will win. You see, I have a huge advantage. I'm almost certain to be a swing vote at the first tribal council our tribe goes to, as I know everyone. I'm in the prime position to crush this game. I'm HOOOOOME!"

Jeff keeps speaking. "As you probably have noticed, you're split into tribes by the musicals in which you starred in. You likely know most of your tribe but none of the other. Opinions on this, Burr?"

"This is an interesting setup. It's cool. But even if I know almost everyone, it doesn't mean I'm willing to be your obedient servant. Especially not to someone like King George."

"Thrown right under the spotlight there, King George. How do you feel about your tribe? Do you feel like an outcast?" Jeff asks.

"I feel a bit different. But nevertheless, I'll overcome. I'm not fighting them in a war right now, am I? Maybe we'll be friends!"

King George gets a confessional: "I definitely feel like I am at a disadvantage to the others. Not personally knowing anyone while every single other person here does? It's bad. The moment we get to camp, any chance I have, I'm gonna have to go look for that idol. Because though I won't send a fully armed battalion or kill your friends and family to win, I will lie. You need to to get far in this game."

"On the other side of things, on In The Heights everyone at least vaguely knows everyone else. Graffiti Pete, how do you feel about that?"

"I think the dynamic of this tribe will be cool to watch. I'm honestly not sure how the alliances will shape up. I can see anyone being with anyone else right now."

"Alright, you guys ready to get to your first challenge?" Everyone gives an enthusiastic yes. "This is a race. You will run three miles uphill towards that mountain. The finish line is clearly marked. This is the true test of stamina, readiness, and will to win. Everyone will participate, and you have a choice. You may help your tribe cross to make everyone faster and encourage people. Or you can go as fast as you want. The first person from each tribe to cross the line wins an immunity necklace for their first tribal council. But the first tribe to get all of their members across the line wins a huge reward. Wanna know what you're playing for?" Everyone cheers.
