Anna waited for Ron's dad. I sat across from her and stared hard at her as she sat anxiously. I had texted Ronnie's dad earlier, pretending to be Anna, cancelling the dinner date. I reach over to her hand slowly and place my hand on top of it slowly. She's startled and coiled backwards, confusion on her face. Her hand is at her chest now, as she looks around.
Her heartbeat had quickened and she had started to sweat. Good. I can sense the fear.
"D - Danyubi." She stammers. I sense the demon materialize, but I cannot see it. I frowned at that moment. How could she even imagine if bringing Ronnie's dad into her home? The same home her children died in? The same home that I died in? The home that was now inhabited by so many demons at her command?! "Good. Please keep me company. I don't feel well." There is a slight pause and I can tell the demon is mocking her from the look on her face. "I am not scared. There is nothing to scare me. Nothing to defy me or act so daringly." She stood up from her seat and picked up her phone. I send in the text.
Her eyes scan over it, growing wide in horror.
I send in another text. And Another. And Another. One more. Two.
And the final text, for the only living person she had spared; Ronnie.
Anna dropped her phone in fear and ran off towards her room, calling out to the many demon servants around her. Danyubi, the one she had first called moves closer to the phone. Then, it's gone.
I leave, triumphant.
The texts I sent would read,
"I know what scares you." -For Alyssa.
"I know what is ready to defy you." -For Allen.
"I know what can hurt you." -For Mr. Carter
"Nothing can save you from him." -For Kat.
"Nothing can save you from me." -For myself. And for Ronnie?
"Run.".
