This Love

chapter one

MASSIE POV

Have you ever wonder whats love? Have you ever been in love? Well I haven't. Hi my name is Massie Carter and I'm 17 years old. I live in Manchester, with my stepmother (Melanie) and two stepsister (Jessica and Rachel) . My father died when i was 12, so my life is no fairy tail. I attend Safnah High School and my life basically sucks! I am not one of those popular high school girls, with tons of friends. My stepsisters on the other hand are the popular ones. My best friend is Connie Millers, she's the only friend that I have and i'm practically her only friend too. We are alike in every way. She's the only person in this entire world that I trust, she listens to me, care for me, she is there whenever i need her. My stepmother don't treat my like her daughter or like a human, ever since my dad died, she's making my life a living hell. She practically took everything when my dad died, the house, his business, his money, EVERYTHING. The only reason why she didn't kick me out of the house or put me in an orphanage is because she kept a promise to my dad that she would never do something like that and because she's afraid of when i turn 18 I'll take everything from her. But anyhow its Monday, the first day of school after winter break and i'm waiting for Connie to come pick me up. Connie drives a black range rover that I'm begging for that she wouldn't give me,she says she'll buy a car for me on my 18th birthday. Connie parents are rich, her mom owns an oil company and her dad owns a bank. I would've bought a car but my stepmother have the millions of dollar my dad left me on 'lock down'.

''Hey chica, whaddup?'' Connie said. ''Hi, nothing much I'm just worried about our first day of school, something bad always happen to us" I said. ''tell me something i don't know, its like a routine to us. Its either your stepsisters make fun of us or we might fall down a plight of stairs like what happen last year. but don't worry, we'll get through it.'' She retorted. ''I hope so!'' I said sarcastically. We were about to pull up in the school parking lot when Jessica and Rachel came in front of us with their dumb-founded leader Stephanie. Stephanie is the 'queen bee' of the school. All the girls in the school wish to be her and are dying to be her friend. '' look who it is, Massie and her strangely DE-formal best friend Connie.'' Stephanie said. ''oh yeah, the only thing that is going to be DE-formal is your face when I run over it, now move from in front of my car before I run over you.'' Connie shouted through the window of her range rover. '' I dare you to run over royalty'' Jessica retorted. ''yes! we dare you to.'' Stephanie said standing there angry. Connie started the engine of her car but was interrupted by miss tanner ( our algebra teacher). She asked what is happening here, we all said nothing and we were just welcoming each other back to school. She said OK and told us to stay out of trouble and give us a glare before walking away. Stephanie came to the window of Connie's car and said "this isn't over, its a long term. You better watch your back" and walked away with Jessica and Rachel following her. I sighed and said "for a second i thought she was going to kill us" I said. "You just have to know how to handle those idiots." she retorted we both laughed while she drive into a parking lot.

As we exit the car, we saw Mario, the hottest and the most popular guy in school. he was standing by his car talking to the cheerleaders. I just stood there watching him and wasn't even aware that I was drooling. He was coming over to where i was standing. I was panicking inside of me. He came and stand in front of me ''hi.'' he said is this real? Is he actually talking to me I thought , where is Connie! '' um I'm Mario, miss Tanner said you're my algebra partner." He said. His hazel colored eyes, his shaggy brown hair, his six pack that printed through his white t- shirt. His lips! GOD HAVE MERCY, his lips I thought. "Hello?" He said curious, that's when I snapped out of it, I apparently didn't hear a word he was saying. ''Um hi, what were you saying again?'' I said forcing the words out of my mouth. ''Um miss Tanner said you're my algebra partner." He said again. ''Oh, um then i'll see you in class then.'' I said trying to not look happy. ''Yea, I guess'' he said and walked away. As he walked away I caught myself drooling again. Then Connie came from behind the car, ''Oh my gosh, did thee Mario just talked to you?'' she said ''Yes apparently so, and where were you?'' I said angrily. ''oh me I was just hiding behind the car watching you guys, and you drooling" she said. ''Oh my gosh was that noticeable!" I said laughing. " like oh my gosh, did you see his hair, his cheeks, his fucking lips" I said. "I know! let's get to class before the bell rings." She said.

We were walking down the hallway and I saw miss Tanner... I wanted to run and kiss her all over her face but that would be weird. "Good morning ladies!" Miss Tanner said. "Good morning miss tanner." We replied. I couldn't wait yo go into algebra class to sit next to Mario, I try to think of topics we could talk about. I don't want him to think I'm boring! As I was entering the class, I saw something that upset my mood... I saw Stephanie sitting on Mario's lap. I wanted to run that bitch over... But everyone might think I'm weird. Let me rephrase that, weirder! I could have felt the tears trying to force it way out of my eyes, but I suck it up. Pretty girls don't cry, well in my head I'm pretty... But to others I'm ugly! But I don't care. I didn't even know why I wanted to cry, come on its not like he's my boyfriend, but it still hurts. The bell rang, and I was walking to go sit next to Mario. I wanted to not talk to him, for the entire class, but that will be just stupid. Stephanie got off of Mario's lap and went to sit in her seat, I could have seen the jealousy in her face because I get to sit next to Mario in class. Hey! That's one thing I should be happy about, I get to sit next to him and she don't.

"Hey." Mario said. "Hey!" I replied. "Are you ready to work, I can't afford to fail this term." He said. "Of course I am, I'm always ready to work." I said. I try hard to not get too attach or look into his face or anything. Class is in session, since miss tanner came in. "OK class, today's topic we'll be learning about simultaneous equations." She said. For the whole period I didn't really paid attention in class, my mind was on Mario and Stephanie. Every time he turned and smiled at me I wanted to kiss him, but I immediately remove the thought from my head. Class was about to finish when miss Tanner gave us an assignment in which we had to work on pairs. I look over at Connie and smiled but then I remember that Mario was my partner... " OK class, your assignment is to come up with a presentation of your choice. Anything pertaining to math and which involved the topic simultaneous equation. And please class, make it fun and interesting. You are to do this assignment with your partner and present it to the rest of the class on the next 1 month. Its going for 50% of your grade." She said finally when the bell rang. Who a whole month, wait a minute, a Whole month! I get to spend with Mario! I was so happy! My whole mood changed. I wanted to jump and dance but I couldn't, whatever though. "Hey, so we're like going to meet after school and discuss about this assignment?" He asked. "Uh, yeah sure." I said and he smiled. I was about to ask him where when Stephanie came up and grab him."come on babe let's go." She said. He walked out with her looking sad. I wonder if he really likes her, or if its just peer pressure. Cause I swear, that bitch never quits! Connie came up to me and took me out of my mind "come on bozo, let's go to lunch!" She said.

"How was algebraic class today?" Connie asked. "It was aite!"I replied. "Did you talk to Mario?" She asked. "Not really." I said. I wanted to tell her what happened, but then she would go all ghetto on Stephanie and the last thing I want right now, is an embarrassing moment. The day go by pretty fast... And all I could think about is Mario. The bell rang for school to finish and I waited for Mario to come outside so I could ask him where we are going to meet to plan the presentation. He is walking outside with Stephanie, I didn't wanted to ask him now, mostly because I'm scared of her taunting me but I sucked it up. "Uh Mario, so where are we going to meet for this assignment?" I asked. "Um do you know that new cafe place that opened?" He asked. "Yes, sloppy johns!" I said. "Yea there we could meet there tomorrow, if that's OK with you." He said. "Yes, yes its OK." I said. "Great, see you at 9:30 then." He said walking off. "OK!" I shouted as he gets into his car. I couldn't wait for tomorrow. I was excited all evening until my mom asked me why I'm so happy, I just looked at her and smiled.
