A Valentines Surprise

"I don't mind it'll be worth it"

This is a One-shot of what should have happened on Valentines Day for Mariah and Tessa 

It was the night of the Valentines dinner and Mariah was supposed to be there for GC Buzz but a few days ago she came down with the flu

Sharon came downstairs and saw her daughter laying on the couch 

"Are you sure I can't stay with you"she asked 

"No you need to be at Crimson Lights it's going to be packed tonight"she coughed

Sharon sat down next to her and rubbed her leg "I know but my daughter is sick you need me"

"Mom I'm not a little girl anymore I can take care of myself"

"But I never.."Sharon started

"Mom, go I'll be fine"

Sharon got up "Alright I'll bring you home a treat""Call if you need anything"Sharon kissed Mariah's head

"I'll will I promise"

She smiled at her and then left 

Mariah curled up and tried to get some rest 

Later Tessa walked into the coffee house

"Hey,Sharon"she said very shyly

Sharon turned around"Oh hi Tessa,what can I get you"

"A few brownies please"

"Coming up"she said as she took out a box

"So how have you been"Tessa asked

"I've been better,I'm trying to help pick the pieces of my children's broken hearts"

Tessa put her head down and sighed"I know I did wrong by both of them"

"I'm not the one you need to say that too"

"So is Mariah at the Top of the Tower"

"No,she is home sick fight off the flu"

"Oh no , will you tell I hope she feels better"

Sharon handed Tessa the box"Will do,enjoy"

Mariah was woken up by a knock at the door"Hmm,go away"she said as she tried to go back to sleep.The knocking continued"Look I'm sick you don't want to catch this"when the knocking wouldn't stop Mariah got annoyed and got off the couch"So I guess you want to get sick"she said as she opened the door"Tessa"she said all surprised to see her

"Your Mom said you were home sick and I thought some brownies cheesy movies might help. I bought them for me to take to home but as I was going home I thought maybe we could enjoy them together"

"Look Tessa I'm not really up to food right now"

"Then just take the company then"she gave her a small smile

Mariah stepped aside and let Tessa in

"So you know why I'm not at the Top of the Tower  but why aren't you"Mariah asked 

"I didn't want to take away from Simone's night,it's her night and I didn't want everyone looking at me after what I did to you"Tessa looked away from her gaze

"So you want to watch one of those movies you brought"Mariah asked changing the subject

"Sure"she smiled at her 

"Good because those stupid movies always makes me feel better

"I didn't to say it but you look like hell"causing Mariah to smile,just then Mariah covered her mouth and ran to the bathroom

A few minutes later Mariah returned not expecting to Tessa still to be there

"Your still here"she said as she was holding her stomach

"I can't leave you like this Mariah"she said as she felt bad for her 

"I feel like i was hit by a truck, I thought the worst was over"she said as she laid  baked down

"How long have you had this"she asked as she covered her up 

"A few days now,but I don't want to talk about take my mind off of being sick,how is your new place"she asked 

"It's nothing like here, but it's a roof over my head for now""Mariah I can't thank you enough for helping me""After what I did to you"

"Tessa let's not go there right now"

Tessa nodded "Let me make you some tea then we can watch that movie"

Mariah nodded she smiled as Tessa walked away

Tessa returned with two cups of tea"Here you go Mariah"she said as she handed it to Mariah

"Thanks"she said as she coughed 

They started the movie they were both under the blanket.During the course of the movie they would glance at each other 

"I miss this"Mariah spoke first

"Me too, It kills me to think I ruined us"

"I kind of pushed you away,it's what I do"Mariah told her 

"You had every right to Mariah what you wanted from me I couldn't give you"

"All I want to know is how come"

"You were right about it being about Noah.I was scared of how people would look at me.I mean they already looked at us"

"So instead you hurt me and humiliate me"

"I didn't mean to then  Mariah,all you wanted was for me to be honest with you ,but I guess I couldn't do that then and look at us now.Noah is mad at you because of me,your mad at me and I have nothing now"

"Stole my journal,it's like you stole a a piece of me"Mariah said coughing 

"At first all I wanted was to reach you and understand what were feeling.But when I read what you wrote I could feel how you felt and deep down it's how I felt but I could tell you that I guess"

"Reading it is one thing ,you making a song out of it is a completely different thing"

"I know I'm so sorry about what I did"

" It was a good song though"Mariah said

 "So you listened to the whole song"

"Ya I did""I was really beautiful Tessa"Mariah smiled 

 Tessa caressed Mariah's face

They looked into each others eyes

"I really do miss you Mariah"

"I miss you too"

Tessa leaned in,

Mariah backed away "Tessa,no you might you might get sick"

"I don't mind,it'll be worth it

Mariah looked at Tessa as she pressed her lips on Mariah's 

After a few minutes they pulled away 

"Happy Valentines Day,Mariah"Tessa said stroking her hair

"Happy Valentines Day,Tessa"Mariah leaned her forehead against Tessa's

They just held each other as they watched the movie

"Best Valentine's Day ever"Mariah whispered 

"Same here"Tessa said as she kissed Mariah's hair
