I walk along side the shore, watching the path that the waves take when they reach the shore. The cold ocean water nips at my bear-feet, yet it soothes them on that hot evening.
Of course, no one else would find this soothing, I thought as I ducked from some sort of animal flying over me. Later I decided it was a mallard of some sort...
For it was too cold here in this newly inhabited land of my people, the Shi's. Dense forests is our home, but a huge storm of piercing light and burning fire had driven us away to this new, scary world.
There were a tribe of hu-ha and a clan of very advanced 'humans' living nearby. All their technology and such has been effecting the galaxy in a negative way, in my brothers opinion. That it was 'ruining life as we know it by turning this whole place into ice'.
Junk is all technology is to me; it cannot alter the galaxy or disrupt the guavate, but by plum it's annoying.
I picked up a 'rock' or so it's called and threw it in the ocean. My brothers suggest I understand all the human terms sooner than later, seeing our society is most likely next to be enslaved.
The Shi are practically exactly like humans physically. Body, hair face, hands, feet! There's not much that separated the two species minus my peoples tail. Physically we could be brother and sister but beyond that, we are nothing alike.
My brothers say that humans are the biggest source of evil in our galaxy. While not all of them are bad, a main group travels about the universe stamping out all other species until they are dominant on every planet, called the Ressar. They blew up there own planet after they had killed all resources and there was nothing left. The few that don't belong are actually very kind, there's 2 families living among our village. They taught us how to speak 'English' which is apparently the most widely human language spoken.
Our language is also practically the same, we just have different slang words. For example; their ocean is our weeata. But it's almost the same...
"Amabeke! Jonathan is here..." I heard one of my 5 brothers, Zahi call for me sarcastically from our hut on the outskirts of the village.
Jonathan... I said the name in my head, and it became a song of love.
He was the sweetest boy in practically the whole world, and I had a huge crush on him. He was probably not very good looking in the eyes of anybody else in my village because-
"Amabake! Stop singing and come over here!" Zahi called.
I didn't even notice that at the top of my lungs I sang a love song, and I twirled around in the salty water.
"Coming!" I yelled and grabbed my flats... Or shoes as I was supposed to call them. I ran as quickly as I could through the tall grasses that the humans harvested from. They used up all the growing space for their huge communities, but at least it kept the hu-has away.
The hu-has were another meh boring community that only speak hu. So only those fluent in hu could understand them, which was few of us. They're very annoying, they never stop talking but you can never understand them! They hate this type plant so the Ressar planted a lot of them. It's sad because when the hu-has have a translator they actually tell very interesting stories...
I saw Jonathan sitting by our 'tree' outside our new hut, making a little bracelet out of flowers, probably for me.
He's so good at everything, even making bracelets! That's how we met; were the two most advanced students at the qrry. Or as he calls it... 'school'. We have private lessons from a elder, just the two of us. We learned stuff about the whole galaxy, nod just our planet. We spend A LOT of time together, and you could say we both formed a pretty solid crush on each other..
Zahi and Duluhor came out of the hut and glared at Jonathan intensely, but he just smiled back. I ran up to the three of them and hugged my brothers.
They still had a stern look on their face as Jonathan rapped his arms around me. I can give them respect to be a little overprotective over me.
Especially if there baby sister is falling in love with a human.
