"You think I murdered Jimin?" Pale asked. "Why would I do that? He was my friend and my coworker. We were—metaphorically speaking—partners in crime."Yoongi nervously bounced his leg and up. "That's what I'm—we're trying to figure out. We can't rule anyone out, Pale. Even someone as trustworthy as you."
Pale bit down on her lip in front of the three thrones. Two guards were behind her and four were by the entrance. The usually grand and magnificent throne room seemed brooding and had a stench that was not usual in Wonderland. Wonderland's air was sweet and intoxicating, but now it seemed deadly and poisonous.
"You've known me since we were children. We were all raised together. We were friends."
"We are friends," Taehyung corrected.
"It doesn't feel like that anymore," she replied.
Taehyung sighed and looked away. He knew how Pale could get. He was the oldest out of them and he would have to look out for his two siblings and Pale included. She was a calm girl who knew how to watch a situation before getting involved, but she was someone that needed to be needed or she felt no place in life. If someone didn't need her, then she deemed them toxic and tossed them aside.
Sometimes Pale was emotionally unstable. It could be seen from the outside if parts of her started disappearing. At times, she couldn't control her power of being able to disappear. It would just happen. Once, she disappeared for two days because she didn't know how to turn back.
Pale's body parts began to disappear and come back. They were flashing on and off and she sighed, rubbing her arms as if her hands were a cocoon that would protect her from disappearing again. She hated fully disappearing. It made her feel invisible—like no one knew where she was and that she didn't exist.
"Pale," Baekhyun called out, "please calm down. I wouldn't want you to fully disappear again. I couldn't find you last time."
Pale nodded, continuing to rub her arms. "I'm sorry," she murmured. "Uh—what other questions did you have for me?" she softly asked, raising her head to look at them.
Taehyung took in a deep breath. "Did you murder the White Rabbit?"
"No, I did not murder my friend."
"She's telling the truth," Taehyung responded.
Taehyung could see through people and know who they truly are as a person. Baekhyun could see things that weren't perceived by other people. He could see dead people or something six feet below someone. Yoongi could manipulate a person's emotions as well as find out their current emotion.
"Do you know who murdered him?" Yoongi asked.
"No, I do not know who murdered my friend."
Half of her face disappeared at that moment and Yoongi picked on a sudden spike of fear from her. Her heart was racing rapidly as if she were lying, but Taehyung could see that she was telling the truth. He nodded as a confirmation. Pale wasn't in fear because she told a lie. She was in fear because her power was going haywire.
