Klavern Secondary School- after the late first headmaster, Gregory Klavern- was an average secondary school consisting of crowed hallways, dusty classroms, and onsite litter. Education inspectors never rated the school high for intellectual standards, however there was for sure a lot of different personas within the school. There were clubs of all sorts, with very different people in them. However the current headmaster- William Gardiner worries that the clubs have divided them into cliques and feels that students should mix. Five very different boys however, somehow end up together...and two of them even start to fall for each other. But two guys dating in a secondary school would sure ruin their school lives forever, right?
"Take these, they may come in handy," said out Mrs Crowley, as her art club students shuffled noisely out of the art room. She handed each student as they filed out an A4 sheet consisting of tips and techniques for using watercolour effectively.
"Hey, Zayn! Wait up!" called Sam, a fellow art club goer. He ran to catch up, Zayn walked obviously slow, smirking as an out of breath Sam ran to his side.
"Hi, caught up alright there?" he asked jokingly. Sam rolled his eyes playfuly.
"Watercolours ey?" he commented. Zayn crinkled his nose in displeasure.
“Not my favourite material to be honest.” Sam nodded in agreement.
“You and I are the same on this, it’s all about the spray paint,” he smiled.
“Definitely,” Zayn finished. Zayn Malik was a year 11 student. He loved art, especially spray painting, his style was cartoon and any general abstractness. He wasn’t shy, but he was reserved. He had jet black hair styled in a neat quiff and deep brown eyes. His love for art was due to feeling that he could express himself through it, and it put him at peace while doing it. However, Zayn also loved to sing. The singing club at school though, was regarded as camp. For boys anyway, girls in the singing club was accepted, but for some reason boys couldn’t join it without being called gay. Despite that there was one boy in the club who turned out to get quite popular from it, with the girls though- the boys thought he was gay.

The boys of the football club filed out of the changing rooms in a large crowd, the loudest talker evident in the crowd.
“Star player over here!” called out the coach of the team.
“Well what can I say!” Louis declared, without a tone of modesty to be heard. Louis Tomlinson was a friendly, energetic year 11 boy. He was always the loudest of the group and would undoubtedly stimulate the mood of the group to a high. He had brown hair swept to the side and dazzling green eyes. Louis loved to play football, he just enjoyed it thoroughly, the feeling of playing in a team, a family- the adrenaline when competing and wanting so badly to win. Like Zayn however, Louis loved to sing. Again, the peer pressure took over and being a young lad- he feels as he is good at football and does love it, that is where he should belong.
“You did good kid, the team needs you,” the coach commented kindly. Louis shrugged happily, accepting the compliments. The rest of the group cheered at the coaches words. Chanting Louis’ name proudly.
“Aw thanks guys, seriously it means a lot to me, really. I jus…” Louis paused and laughed when the boys started to chant ‘speech’. Louis continued “I just love being in this club and having all you as my friends, I feel part of something you know?” His friends all cooed at his words.
“Alright Lou, now stop being sappy and lets go to lessons,” one the of club members laughed fondly at him. The group cheered.

The very small room of musicians clapped as the blond boy stood up, now carrying his guitar on his back.
"That was a brilliant little performance, thank you very much Niall,” the teacher complimented kindly. Niall smiled sheepishly as he sat back down and the next member of the musical instruments club stood up and took the piano of the room. There was two music clubs, there was one for the instruments and one for singing. The instrument players of course felt superior to the singers, they believed that they were the real musicians and the singers didn’t have all that much talent. Saying that, as the two clubs were loosely linked, various members of the group did often accompany the singers for their in-school performances. Niall Horan, year 11, loved to play the guitar, he didn’t start at a very early age but he’s got so good purely from practising. It was hard to pull him away from it. Niall was bleached blonde with beautiful blue eyes, the girls of the instrumentation club- as they call it- adored Niall and thought he was the cutest thing they’ve ever seen. He wasn’t charming and flirty, but he was funny, and carefree and no matter what kind of negative mood you were in, all Niall would have to do is do one of his stupid little grins or chuckle with his incredible laugh and you would feel slightly more at ease at least. Niall also loved to sing, which is why he never joined in with the rest of the club member’s remarks about the singing club. He had to choose between instrumentation or singing. So for the sake of his reputation and his undying love for the guitar, he obviously chose instrumentation.

The loud bell sounded and echoed through the sports hall, making the boys in the changing rooms within it jump.
“That bell gets me every time,” a brown haired boy chuckled.
“Yeah I know what you mean mate,” a black haired boy chuckled. The brunet boy smiled softly at him, replacing his white sports top with his school shirt. Liam Payne, a year 11 student also had short brown hair styled into a small quiff, and lovely blue eyes. He was a member of the basketball club. He wasn’t passionate about basketball like some of the boys here, however he was good at it none the less and it kept him occupied. He wondered before he joined if he wasn’t being active enough around the school. He wanted to leave feeling like he’s been a part of something, so seeing as he has enjoyed basketball in P.E growing up, he felt a sports team is a good place to feel at home and part of something. He briefly looked at a flyer for the singing club as he did love to sing. However, like everyone else, Liam knew fully well how the singing club were regarded. He’s never been one of those people that cares too much about what people think and he generally just waved off an insult, but this was school and if he can help it he figured he might as well survive through it without being called gay.

The singing club. Tuesday and Friday lunchtimes. If a boy wanted to join it, he was ridiculed. There was one boy in the club however who was actually very popular with the females of the school, the males though didn’t think so highly of him. Harry Styles in year 11, loved to sing, and granted, he was amazing at it. He had luscious brown curly hair and sparkling green eyes. He was very charming and knew how to impress a girl. He had a passion for singing and a lot of girls in the school were quite desperate to date him. When he and the singing club performed at various events, the girls would get slightly flustered as Harry took one of his regular solos.
“Faggot,” a boy in the school commented as he shoved Harry slightly into the wall.
“Oh my God, Harry are you okay?!” a girl cried, he didn’t even know who she was.
“Oh, yeah, yeah I’m fine I’m used to it,” Harry chuckled. Harry didn’t mind all the girl attention he got, however in a sense he wondered just why he gets it. He felt that the girls loved his looks but didn’t exactly tap in to his personality. No one really wants to see what he’s really like as a person, but they are more interested in his curls and beautiful smile. He even pondered if his voice was less of an appeal than his looks, however he knew that a lot of girls did love his voice. The boys he was clearly not so popular with, but he learned to live with it.
PLEASE READ: I will dedicate a chapter to anyone who could design a cover for this story cos I'm shit at it as you can tell by mine! If you're willing and have editing skills then please message me or email me nattmolena@gmail.com and I'll tell you what I had in mind!
Not the longest chapter yes, but I just wanted to introduce the characters, you know? I didn’t want to jump in to heavy plot straight away as I feel description and build up is more exciting.
