Ash threw her backpack over her shoulder. Her little brother, Dylan, was at the table with her father, who was drinking his coffee and reading the paper. Her mother was making eggs, and her bigger sister, Brittany, was scrolling through her phone, yapping away to her mom about god knows what. Ash went to the fridge and grabbed a bottle of water, and a granola bar off the counter. She made her way to the door.
"Ash, honey, don't you want to stay for breakfast?" Her mom called out. "Uh, no thanks mom, I gotta get to class!" Ash yelled back. "Alright, then, see you later," Her mother called. "See ya later," Ash said, opening the door and taking out the keys to her car.
Timeskip
After a long day at school, the teenager flopped down on her bed and began scrolling through her old notifications. Nothing seemed new. Nothing ever really did. But as Ash fell into sleep, there was some sort of activity in the back of her head.
She twisted in her bed, trying to get the strange pulses of unnatural energy out of her brain. Her eyes then flew open, and she saw some sort of an animal silhouette, surrounded by an aura of purple energy. Ash's heart began to beat out of her chest. Was this a dream? She could feel the cold air being circulated around her room, and the humming of energy from the thing. There was no way that this was a dream. It came closer, the lavender in its eyes appearing brighter. It took the shape of some sort of big cat. It leapt up and sat on the edge of her bed.
"W-who - What.. Are you?" Ash stammered, her eyes still wide in shock and disbelief.
