In our world, there is 3 different places you can be. Heaven, The Overworld, and Hell. The best place you can be is heaven, but the overworld can be good. It was not for Joseph.
He believed it was better in hell than in his own normal life. As a child, his father decided to abandon him, and for the first few years of his life, he lived with only his mom. But then his stepdad came into view. This man was terrible, he beat his wife and his child, and Joseph was hit with a belt any time he was bad. This man was so terrible, so that Joseph didn't feel, he was transformed into a bad child.
He teased people, he had drawn on the walls with markers, he didn't do what anyone told him to do, and he did what he wanted. He was thought of as evil, or a devils child, and he believed he was.
One day, he couldn't take the whippings anymore. He wrapped his old toy rope, which then he had loved, but was now used for bad, and got a chair and wrapped his toy around his neck, which he had seen on television, stood on the chair, tied it to the ceiling and kicked the chair down. The pain was finally gone.
