Alice's POV
Oh no, I've done it now.
I was washing the dishes, as instructed, then I accidentally dropped a plate, the china falling to the floor and shattering into what seemed like a million pieces.
"That better not have been one of my china plates!"
I heard the voice of my 'mom', as she forced me to call her.
I started to panic.
I'll be in the dog house if I don't think of something quick!
I heard the floor boards of the cabin creek as something walked across them, and I knew who.
I tried to pick up the shards of the broken plate before she got to the kitchen, but it was no use, the shards cut my hands and fingers, I couldn't get them all up in time as I felt a heavy weight on my back, pushing me to the ground.
"What did I tell you, huh?"
Her foot now was pushing my face into the shards.
"O-oww please s-stop, It hurts"
I pleaded.
"That won't be the only thing that hurts if you don't clean this up"
The weight that was on my back, lifted.
Oh thank God, I can breathe again!
"Now clean this up or you'll get the belt"
She threatened.
I nodded and immediately went to cleaning up the rest of the plates pieces.
