I waited.

I waited all my life, for this moment and it finally arrived.

I walked out of the wing and on to the stage. With the microphone in front of me. And thousands of voices cheering me and my band.

Calling out.

ETHEREAL!
ETHEREAL!!!!!!!
ETHEREAL!!!!!!!!
ETHEREAL!!!!!!!!

This moment always takes me back to the moment that changed everything. That made me who I am today. The moment when I lost everything I had.

-----------------------------------------------------------

"Hey, wait......... wait for me" I begged.

But she kept walking, as if she knew I would follow no matter what. I kept my pace behind her. I heard her sob quietly, she thought by being quiet she's sparing me the pain or hurt or sparing herself the embarrassment. If only she knew that she's not sparing anybody............... neither me and not herself.

"Lily, wait" I said and held her hand. She finally looked at me. She was as pretty as her name, even though she was sad, she looked her best. I can tell her this thousands of times. But it wasn't enough, I wasn't enough.

"What do you want?" She pleaded, as if she wanted to say please leave me alone but decided against it.

"I'll give you a ride" I declared.

"I don't need you" she said and started walking again.

"I'm not leaving without you" I said.

She sighed and looked at me. "Why are you doing this?"

"I told you, it's not the first time I am taking you home besides that we live next to each other.............. and you're my childhood crush!" I wanted to add but since my voice broke it seemed harder to talk even with the girl who was the only person in this world I'll go to solve a difficult math problem.

"I can go!" she announced, and started walking.

"I am calling your mom!" I threatened her.

"You won't!" she said.

"I will!" I said.

She pursed her lips and walked to my rusty old truck but instead of climbing inside she started walking straight I held her elbow and somehow she stood still in a place.

"Let go of me!" She tried to wriggle free but I won't let go especially when I had an urge to pick her up and put her in my truck. She started slamming her wrists on my chest. It did nothing but annoy me. I pulled her to the door but she kept fighting. I pressed her on the door and shouted "get in the truck" she looked down like she didn't hear a word.

"Do I get to drive?" She asked.

It felt odd the way she said it, she was upset minutes ago and now she was playing coy so that she could drive. Well that was my cue. If only I knew everything will go awry after that.

My reason to wake up everyday.

My hope for tomorrow.

My dreams.

Everything will be gone.
