I didn't really like this chapter that much, think it could have been a bit better, but I have enjoyed writing this story and I am excited that so many have enjoyed it.  It's coming down to the last chapters for Nikki and Vincent. Hopefully things will last for them and they will have a long happy life together.  Thanks again for reading my story.

Chapter 67

Vincent and I talked about our wedding and came to an agreement and decided that we would move the wedding up and make it smaller than I initially planned.  We called our parents and although both our mother’s wanted us to keep the October date, we finally gave up and told them that we were moving the date up and that was final. After Vincent and I talked I realized what he suggested made sense.  We started shopping for houses a few I liked and a few I didn’t like so we decided to go get dinner and start again tomorrow after work.

Work was exhausting today we had a patient come in having an active heart attack, we had two other that came in overdosed on heroine. It was a hectic day with all that going on plus I had nurses not showing up for their shifts.  I couldn’t wait to get off and go home.  I was in my office finishing up a few reports for today when my cell phone started beeping. I looked at the screen and saw there was a text message notification.  I smiled when I saw it was from Ebony.  It’s been a couple of weeks since the last time we talked.  I was so happy to hear from her.

Hi sissy, I wanted to tell you that I went to the doctor today and I am having a girl.  I called mom and dad and told them and of course mom cried.  You remember my best friend Gee-gee well she is giving me a baby shower next weekend and I wanted you and Vincent to come.  Call me when you get off this evening and we will talk more.  I love you.

I smiled at the text and thought about how much I missed my brother and my sister.  It’s hard not being in the same state, but no matter what I will be going to see my sister and hopefully and Alex and Maumee will be there too.  Vincent will be happy to see Alex again they got along good. Hopefully Vincent can change his schedule to go with me.

I stood up and grabbed my computer bag and purse and headed out of my office locking the door.  I felt arms around my waist and I smiled turning around to see my handsome fiancée smiling down at me.

“I was just locking up my office and coming down to meet you so we could leave; I guess I was moving too slow.”

“No I just wanted to come up and walk my beautiful fiancée to our car so we can leave and go find our new home.”

“That’s right we are going house hunting again today, hopefully we will find one we like.”

“Yeah I hope so; I am ready to make you my wife.”

“Are you sure you’re ready?”

“Yes I am very sure.”

He grabbed my computer bag from my shoulder and carried it for me.  We talked on our way to the car laughing at things that went on today in the ER.  We got to the car Vincent put our things in the trunk and came and opened the door for me then walked back around and got in the car and we headed out.  We went to several different areas until we came to a new subdivision with brand new houses we drove on a few of the streets and we came to a house that sat on the left of a dead end street.

When I saw the house I told Vincent to stop and I went up to the door and turned the knob.  The door opened and I stepped inside and I knew this was the house I wanted.  I ran back outside and grabbed Vince out of the car so he could come in and look at the inside with me. He turned the car off and got out and walked in with me.

“Baby look at this house, it’s beautiful.”

“Yes sweetheart it is beautiful, would you like to have the realtor meet us here tomorrow so we can talk price and down payment.”
