"I'll take an extra large vegan organic white chocolate huckleberry mocha, whipped, and sprinkled with gold shavings and a butter pecan muffin please." John said

"Alrighty, so that's an extra large vegan organic white chocolate huckleberry mocha, whipped, and sprinkled with gold shavings and a butter pecan muffin. That'll be 258 dollars and .98 cents." The girl replied

"Thanks"

John stepped out from under the canopy to meet a blinding sun. He put on his fedora and grabbed a copy of the Boston Gazette from the newspaper bin and headed over to a table. As John was finishing his coffee, Two women walked over to the table beside his and set their babies down and walked over to the coffee shop. He sipped the last of his coffee and picked up the newspaper. He was a few lines into the crime report when the babies started to talk.

"The plan is almost complete," one baby said, "within a week, we'll be sitting in a big boy chair overlooking our empire."

The other baby replied "I'm not too sure about this Jeb, I mean, we have everything we want, good clothes, good food, I mean there is nothing we could possibly need."

" You don't understand, as soon as we get older, it will be harder to influence the minds of our fellow humans. We will get older and become less and less cute, making it practically impossible to complete the plan."

"Well, okay."

John got up casually and walked to go throw his coffee away, but a thousand of thoughts were flying through his brain. How could babies plan this. How is this even possible. He was so deep in thought that he didn't feel his phone buzz in his pocket. But his brain suddenly went blank when he noticed the couple walking down the sidewalk take out their phones and suddenly fall over crying. A man nearby ran to their aid and flipped over the phone and threw it a couple of feet away where it landed in the lap of an old woman. She flipped it over and fell down laughing instead of crying. People started to freak out. Someone called the police and pretty soon it was a crime scene. A couple of days later, the story was reported on the news. Then the television stations all over the world went out, except for one that broadcasted a slideshow showing pictures of babies and a future earth, but by then, John and about 200 other people he had convinced to come with him had already traveled out to a remote bunker. In about 20 to 30 years, they came back above ground and built a small farm community. They also used outdated computers to hack the baby drones so they reported nothing to the control center. This allowed them to build in a certain area around the area blocked out by the computers. They recruited new survivors and actually built up an army. But one day a critical error happened in the control room. The new recruit accidentally spilled water on his computer when he fell asleep. This allowed the babies to see the town by satellite and the baby drones could finally attack the humans who were not under control of the slideshow.

The next morning, A large amount of drones gathered in the nearest town and prepared for an attack. A few miles east, the humans had no idea what the next three hours awaited. The baby drones attacked about an hour later and surrounded the town. They moved in scanning each and every house. Most of the human army was at the center of the town getting terrified residence to the bunker. The army had set up a defense post to hold off the drones so all the residence could escape to the bunker, but the drones never came.

"Mary, what's happening?" asked John.

"The drones are retreating. We won." Mary shouted.

All the terrified residence streamed out of the bunker. They threw a party that night and mourned all they lost, including John's best friend, Jim. While the party was nearing its end, a small crunching sound could be heard, it got louder and louder until everyone could hear it clearly, yet they still partied on. A loud noise interrupted the fun and only the slight sound of old music could be heard.

"All residence of the human camp, please surrender yourselves, we will not harm you and you will be treated as all our citizens." The voice said. John recognized it, it was Jim.

"NEVER, we will go down fighting!" someone said.

"Have it your way." Jim said coldly.

The barricades made were blown to smithereens and many people were hit by debris. People who weren't hit by flying bits of metal and wood or who could still walk hurried to the bunker and walked over the injured. The guards tried their best but were stunned almost instantaneously by the trucks that were pouring through the gates. John made it to the bunker and was forced to shut the door on a group of guards making a run to the bunker door. He could hear the cries of the wounded and the sobs of the mourning through the passageway of the concrete bunker. John walked into the main clearing and ordered every able bodied adult to attend a meeting.

Two hours later, about 200 men and women showed up at the gathering place.

"I know we are all mourning the loss of friend and family, but we have to fight back, because if we just sit here, they will do the same thing over and over."

"But we are low on supplies and men." Someone shouted from the crowd.

"Yes, I know that we are short men, but we could still fight with advanced weapons. I have a cache hidden in the schoolroom. We will have more than enough ammo and we will leave some people to guard the bunker. I plan to take down the computer that controls the world and people. It should turn the drones off, as well as everything else. I also believe that Jim was an insider for the babies and is now ruling the empire. I will take 100 of our best fighters and attack the White House, where Jim and the computer are located. After I have shut down the computer, I will need an escort squad to get me out of Washington D.C. Prepare to say your goodbyes as I am pretty sure not all of us will return. You are dismissed."

The crowd dispersed and John went to gather weapons with a couple other guys. As he was handing out weapons to the crowd, he could hear a strange pounding from the bunker doors. A resounding Boom put an end to the strange sound and a scream followed by a thud let John know exactly who gained entry.

"Run everyone, get to the emergency exit." John screamed as group of kids were cut down and bagged by recovery troops that came in after the stunners. He got to the emergency exit and ran through with a bag of weapons on his back. The last person made it through the door shut it and put the safety bar over the handle.

"C'mon everybody, we have to get to D.C. before they find us." John stated as people began to sit. Gradually, they made their way through the virginia countryside and taking out drones as they went. The Group took 3 days and a couple of people deserted in the night to go find other groups that were rumored to be hidden throughout the Appalachians. The main group hid out on the outskirts of D.C. while John's group disguised themselves as tourists. They walked through the security gates at the White house easily. THey got through the doors and got in a group of tourists being led by a blonde tour guide. When they reached the oval office, John and the others excused themselves to go use the restroom. When the tour group left, John set up a suitable defense and entered the oval office to shut down the computer. He heard a shout and a couple of shots before utter chaos. He kept himself composed and scrolled through the cameras and looked for the shutdown button. John finally found it and pushed it. He watched the cameras as everyone suddenly went rigid, then started pillaging. He had just destroyed civil order. Wondering what had happened, John looked through a couple of files and realized that the babies did not have plans to take over the world, but improve it. John suddenly realized that he was the bad guy, not the babies. He walked over to the mahogany desk that was once used by presidents. He noticed a stun gun and walked out the door to see the last of his defenders that hadn't been stunned and shot them. He then walked back into the room, shot and stunned himself, and waited for the memory wipe that would come with the earpiece. The baby army swarmed the room on their little chairs and were followed by Jim, who looked down, smiled, and wrapped him in rope.

"Sir, we are not permitted to tie up the prisoner." One baby said. Jim didn't respond, but rather whipped out his gun and shot all the babies in the room. Jim picked John up and threw him down a chute. The last thing John saw was the fiery jaws of flaming death.
