Dragon Days

Day 3:Forest

   I awoke to Moonlight licking my face. "That's right Moonlight, wake that sleepy head up." "I can always count on you for a good morning." "Your welcome. I made breakfast." "Define breakfast." "Oh hush." We a shared laugh. We both know Luna is not the best cook.

   "Just try it." "If I die, put on my grave that Luna cant cook." Luna scowled at that comment. I just smirked at her. She gave me a plate of eggs. "Since you don't trust me, you do it." "Wild?" "Yes." "Good. We can raise our own chickens." "Har har."

   A smile crept across my lips. I couldn't resist. "Put that smile away." She laughed. The sound bounced through the cave. It sounded just like a bubbling brook. A CRAAACK, echoed through the cave. The egg was hatching.

   "Its coming out!" In the exact same way Moonlight came out, a baby Monstrous Nightmare came climbing out of the egg. "Aww!" I nodded my head in agreement. The Monstrous was a tiny blue and green lizard that tumbled out of her egg. Moonlight crept up and sniffed her.

   The newly hatched dragon backed away slowly, not even stopping for a wall. Luna and me laughed at the two. "Her or his name will be Forest." Forest jumped and ran from Moonlight. She gave chase and they chased each other around for a little bit before tangling themselves up with each other and fell asleep.
"They'll be hungry when they wake up." "Yep, better go get some food."

   Shadow Fury flew across the sky at top speed. I always enjoyed the wind that blew through my hair, making it fly in all directions. All I needed was someone to enjoy it with. "Slow down! You're too fast. Chup Chups is tired." I heard ScubaSteve through my radio. He interrupted my daydream and I slowed down for him and his Gronkle Chup Chups. They came up slowly chugging along.

    "Can't you go any faster?" "No, we are both tired and hungry."
"OK, we can rest in that cave down there." "Sounds like a plan." "TinyTurtle, me and LittleLizard are going to rest in a cave. I will send you our coordinates." ScubaSteve called through the radio. A voice cracked back, "OK, be there in a jiffy. Just found a destroyed wall. It looks recent. Over and out."

   Damn, he always has something else on his mind. Destroyed walls, whatever. We glided down into the cave. I heard a loud CRAAACK! "Stop, I heard an egg hatching. There must be a nest. Let's wait for TinyTurtle." We stayed outside awkwardly waiting for him.

   He sure knew how to make things embarrassing.
After what seemed like forever, we could make out his dragon Burnt, the fire dragon. "OK , I'm here. Why the glare?" "You took forever!" "Sorry. But we are checking out that wall later." "Don't walk right in!" "Why not?" "Dragon nest idiot." "Well I didn't know!" "Not the time!"

   ScubaSteve hissed at us. I can tell TinyTurtle was just as surprised as I was. ScubaSteve never hisses. "Shush!" I motioned them to follow me. The dragons sat outside waiting for our next move. I brought Shadow Fury in with me.

   As I peeked around the corner I got a something to the face and everything went black.
