Chelsea’s pacing around the flat waiting anxiously for whatever is going to happen to happen. She walks into Austin’s room, almost as if she expects him to be in there. She comes back out in Austin’s varsity jacket looking so much more relaxed.
“Chels, there’s a dinner party later tonight we should get ready.” She stands, actually she sits down on one of the bar stools nervously playing with one of the clementines from my fridge. I take it from her hand and get her to look at me, “He’s going to be okay Chels, stop worrying.” She looks over at me her eyes filling with a nervous energy that somehow needs to get out. Then out of all the dumb things I can do I kiss her, she’s wearing Austin’s jacket and I kiss her. She goes off to get ready and never mentions it again.
