Irene POV

Chapter 1: HER
I thought that we had something special , a contention, a spark. But I guess it's not out of the ordinary, for me to get caught up in my own version of reality. In middle school, I had decided that on the first day of high school I would confess to her. Even though, I had worked up the courage to confess, things didn't go as planed.
That morning, I walked into school clutching onto a pink colored love letter, shaking I looked around to find her. My eyes scanned every inch of the hallway and with each step I took, the more I clutched onto my letter. I stoped scanning and I see her. She was with a group of girls I had never seen before.
I quickly shoved the crumpled letter into my pocket and started to walk over to them. I stoped in my foot steps. They were laughing, smiling and all I could do was stand there like an idiot, staring. Tearing up, I ran into the girls washroom and didn't come out until the end of the school day.
Needless to say I guess we grew apart somehow. Maybe I was too ignorant to realize it or maybe she had gotten bored of me. As time went by, I guess she started to forget about us. As for me, I started to want her more, I started to fantasize about her. So this story is basically me writing about all the things I wish I could do with her. I can't really vent anywhere else and I'm still in the closet so this is the best option for me right now.

My typing is interrupted by rampage of students stumbling into the classroom. The once silent classroom, quickly becomes filled with a herd of loud students. I hesitantly pull up the hood on my jacket and slip my laptop into my bag.
The teacher finally enters the classroom and the chatter comes to a halt.
"Today you are going to begin writing your end of year short story," Ms. Estelle says. The class let's out a deep sigh. "Well, it's going to be a pair project so you can choose your own partner. As for the project, each pair will have to write in a different genre. One person from the pair will pick a random genre out of this hat." She holds out a hat filled with small, folded pieces of paper. "You can pair up now,"
I mentally groan. Normally, I just wait until everyone else has picked a partner and pair up with whoever's left. I always do all the work anyway.
"Wendy do you not have a partner?" Ms. Estelle sighs. My eyes immediately widen and I grab onto the sides of my hoodie.
"Yeah, Seulgi's at a dance competition today so I'll just pair up with her when she gets back," Wendy smiles.
"Oh, I think Irene over there doesn't have a partner yet so you two can just pair up. You have to start writing this lesson anyway. It'll be better for the both of you," Ms. Estelle points Wendy in my direction. Wendy makes her way over to me and hesitantly smiles.
"Hey Irene!"
"Yeah...hi," I murmur looking up at her. She places her hand on my arm and my eyes widen.
"I'll go pick the genre okay?"
"Yeah go ahead," she walks to the front of the class and picks out a piece of paper. She reaches my desk and places the piece of paper in front of me.
I stare at the piece of paper not quite comprehending what it says.
