Chapter 26: Protection.

Your POV:

I walked around the house with my sleeves covering my hands, it had been a few weeks since I was sick. Everyone was so strange about me being sick and no one would really come see me. Lauren came nearly everyday, making me happy.

"Y/N?" I heard someone call.

"Yeah?" I asked going to the living room.

"Hey." Ally smiled.

"Hello Ally, why are you here?" She smiled widely.

"Lauren and the pack have gone to a meeting. Lauren mentioned it right?"

"She did. She mentioned something about an alpha or omega thing. I don't remember."

"That's fine. Anyway, I'm here because your father took most of the pack out to get stuff for the wedding. That's gonna take place tomorrow because they don't need anymore interruptions." I nodded.

"Has Liza gone with my mother?" She nods.

"Yes. Her and Liza are going shopping, plus they took Normani, Liza's best friend." I smiled.

"Good."

"How do you feel today?"

"Tired and cold."

"Come cuddle under the blanket." Ally says as she moves the blanket off her lap and gets me to sit.

I cuddled up to Ally, hiding my face in her neck. We laid in silence till I heard something. I assumed I was making it up but I wasn't. I looked at Ally in shock and she looked confused.

"Why do you have 2 heartbeats?" I asked.

"What?" She asked confused.

"You have two heartbeats."

"I do-ohhhh." She smiled widely.

"Why do you have two heartbeats?" I was getting concerned.

"Me and Lucia tried for a baby a few weeks ago. I think I'm pregnant if you can hear the heartbeat. They grow at different paces so I don't know if I'll have more than one. Normal amount is 2 for a Beta."

"What about Alpha?" I asked.

"Can be anything up to 5." I went wide eyed.

"It's the most. 9 has been the most recorded, thanfully the Luna survived." I started to look panicked.

"Oh erm, I-" I was lost for words.

"Of course the Luna has final say on if she wishes to be pregnant. The Alpha has to respect it no matter what because the Luna has control of her body."

"Oh."

"Yeah. Whoever is having the baby must be fit enough and in their right mind for it."

"Understandable." I smiled.

Ally cuddled with me and lightly scratched behind my ear. I closed my eyes, feeling nothing but bliss. Ally continued to scratch, humming a tune as I relaxed. We did this for a little, till I fell asleep. I woke up to someone moving.

"Shh it's okay." Ally hushed moving slowly.

"Nooo." I whined rubbing my eyes.

"I'll be back in a moment. I need to pee." She ran to the toilet and I waited.

She came back and I cuddled her again, lazily watching whatever was on TV. She scratched behind my ear again, relaxing me as much as she could. No one could relax people enough unless they were their mates.

We stayed like this for a while as we relaxed. The pack came in after some time, Lauren and her few pack members too. Lauren smiled seeing me and Ally cuddled up.

"Had fun today?" Lauren asked smiling and sitting.

"Been relaxing with Ally." I said proudly.

"She fell asleep halfway though and she is quite small so she is easy to cuddle." Ally smiled.

"Lucia is just in the shower, she'll be down in a sec." Lauren said to Ally.

"I could tell. Her scent wasn't there." Ally responded.

I saw Lauren squint her eyes every so often, meaning she was talking on a link. I don't know who too but it wasn't me. I waited patiently as Lauren linked someone, my wolf wanted to come out and cuddle with Lauren but I tried holding it in.

"Babe?" Lauren said making me jump.

"Yeah?" I asked.

"Come cuddle upstairs." She said standing up and taking my hand.

I stood up with her and followed her into my room. My wolf was now annoyed and shifted on her own. I jumped on my bed, whining when I felt an alpha wolf near. Turning around Lauren was in her wolf form. I whined and submitted easily, it wasn't uncommon for mates to submit easily.

Lauren bowed slightly then jumped on the bed licking my fur. She laid down on the bed, her form taking majority of the bed. I laid infront of her, listening to her wolf bark slightly. and such. She expected a response half the time but didn't get one. My wolf couldn't do more than whimper and whine. I just relaxed into Lauren falling asleep. Her wolf covering my own as protection.
