Chapter 8

Harry dozed off a few times and laughed when Marian would poke him in the ribs.

Dr. Sims would update them periodically and even though her labor was slow moving, he was pleased with Marian's progress. Her blood pressure was maintained which made him very happy. He told Marian and Harry that he was going to start the pitocin medication soon to increase her dilation.

Zayn texted Kaia that he had gotten waylaid by his sisters and he was trying to get out of Bradford as soon as he could.

Kaia couldn't stop pacing and at times Louis would force her to sit down. They went back to the cafe and had a late lunch and more tea. And he had found a deck of cards somewhere and they played gin rummy.

"Do you think I should call Katia?"

"Why? This doesn't concern her or Liam. I'm having a baby, which means it is mine and my baby daddy's business. That's it!" Marian exclaimed.  "After the baby comes we need to tell our parents."

"Alright, love," Harry said as he handed her more juice. "I was just asking." He watched as the nurse administered the pitocin into her IV.

"Mrs. Styles, this is going to begin to progress your labor now," the nurse said. "Dr. Sims is ready for you to really get ready for your daughter to be born."

"I am ready to have my daughter too," Marian told the nurse.

Harry smiled. "Me too," he said.

Dr. Sims waited a few minutes and then checked to see how far dilated she was. After he did he stood up and smiled at them. "Two more centimeters," he said. "I'll be back shortly."

Harry's smile got even bigger. "She'll be here soon love."

Zayn hurried into the hospital. He found Louis in the cafe but not Kaia. "Lou?" He asked as he approached him.

"Zayn, it is about time. Kaia is freaking out and Marian's labor is progressing slowly," Louis sighed.  "Kaia went to the ladies room."

Zayn sat down. "Sorry it took so long," he said. "Freaking out like how bad?"

"Afraid Marian is never going to talk to her again freak out," Louis said. "Classic Kaia freak out," he added.

Zayn shook his head. "That bad, huh?" He said. "I've never seen her so shaken after that day Marian confronted her." He said. "How...how are you doing?"

Louis couldn't help but blink back his tears.  "How am I doing? I had to tell the love of my life that she belonged to another man. I had to break her heart all over again. She wanted to run away together and a part of me wanted to take her up on it, but I knew I couldn't do that to Harry and the baby in her belly." He said.  "If she wasn't pregnant, I would have run away with her. She still loves me which shocked the hell out of me, but now she hates me and never wants to see me again because she thinks I only came to see her thanks to Kaia's prodding."

Zayn gave his friend a sympathetic smile. "I'm sorry, Lou." He said. "She may say she hates you, but I don't think that's the case. She's always going to love you. No matter how angry or pissed off she is." He sat back a little in his chair, wondering what was taking Kaia so long. "How did you manage to get her here?" He asked.

Kaia left the bathroom and started to walk the halls again. She needed to try to clear her mind some more, but nothing seemed to be helping.

"Marian, I believe she was delirious. Kept saying the baby was coming. William was coming. We needed to save our baby then she passed out in the car," Louis explained, "It kills me to see her like this."
