Chapter 2

So, here is another chapter for this story. Also, I am going to try to have monthly updates for this story.

Natsu woke up that morning and didn't spare anything more than a glance in the mirror. When Natsu brushed his teeth he turned his back to the mirror, instead choosing to stare at the wall. 

Unfortunately for Natsu, he had to use the mirror for his time-consuming face routine. Once he was done with everything he quickly changed and fixed his hair before grabbing some toast and running out the door to get to the cafe. 

Natsu waved to a few people and received a few smiles. Natsu opened the door to the cafe, quickly making his way to the back where he put on the finishing touches to his uniform and greeted Elfman who was preparing sweets. 

"Morning Mira!" Natsu walked up to Mira who was preparing someone's coffee. 

"Morning Natsu, do you think you could clear off table 12?" Mira asked as she pointed at the table.

"I'm on it." 

"Morning Natsu!" Natsu smiled at Lisanna who was taking orders at the counter. 

"Morning Lisanna!" Natsu made his way to the table and put the cups and plates into the bucket. Then spraying the table and wiping it down. 

Natsu stood up and took the dishes into the back, quickly but thoroughly washing them and placing them away to dry.

Natsu continued to clean tables and wash dishes until it was closing time. The four of them were talking when the door opened. 

Natsu turned and greeted Happy, "Hey Happy!" 

"Hey, Natsu! Guess what I did at school today!" Natsu smiled and gave a questioning hum, "I colored a pretty picture look! It's a fish!" Happy took a folded piece of paper from his pocket, and hurriedly unfolded it to show him the picture, 

"Wow! It looks great Happy!" Happy beamed at him before rambling on about his day, only pausing to take a bite of his sandwich or to gulp down his juice. 

As the months passed Natsu would alternate between preparing coffee, taking orders behind the register, getting groceries, and occasionally helping with the preparation of the baked goods. And every day, just after closing hours he would prepare Happy's order, and then listen to Happy ramble on. 

The two's interactions had remained inside of the cafe, the two would sit and chat until it was time for Happy to leave, then he wiped down the table and helped to lock up the shop.

Natsu woke up to his alarm blaring, he groaned and threw a hand out of the warm cocoon of blankets to smash the off button. His hand quickly retreated back into the cocoon, after grabbing his phone of course. 

He blinked his eyes a few times and turned his phone on and opened the weather app. "Huh, looks like it's gonna storm later." 

He slowly crawled out of the blankets and stretched, silently mourning the warmth and comfort the blankets provided.  He grabbed his clothes and took a quick shower, and brushed his teeth. After drying off and getting dressed he ate a quick breakfast, and grabbed an umbrella, and began the walk to work. 

He opened the doors and smiled at Mira who was updating the daily special. "So, today's drink is Peppermint Mocha, ohh sounds refreshing!" Mira gave a short chuckle and handed the chalk to Lisanna who added a few stars and candy peppermints.

"Good morning Natsu! I hope you're well-rested because today you're going to be behind the register." Lisanna put down the chalk and walked over to Natsu, "I know how much you just love   that job."
