     one year later

A small thin girl grabs her mother's hand tightly, she stares at the bulletin board, examining every paper pasted on it. Book sales, missing dogs, selling of houses portray the papers in it, but the girl locks her stare on a pink paper on the left corner of the board, it reads "Missing" in bold letters, below it stands a picture of a beautiful girl with blonde locks and blue eyes, and below the picture it reads "would now be sixteen". The eight year old tugs her mothers hand and points towards the poster, she asks "What's wrong sweetie?" and the child answers "I saw that girl on Disney." she giggles smiling, her mom smiles apologetically at the poster and grabs her child away.

That is the first sight Ayla sees when she gets back from her trip to Europe, the child walking away not taking her eyes off the poster. She lets out a sigh and walks into her favorite bar she used to sneak in when her parents fought over stupid things, she takes her bag and lays it on the counter. She asks for a simple water and shuffles with her hands, looking around the bar.

Her thoughts conduce to the start of the career she never had, once Abrielle disappeared, her chances of becoming a singer also did. Constant Tone flunked and they had to cancel their tour, it seemed like the media only liked the scandalous Abrielle and never payed attention to the other members. Fans started to fight over her sudden and mysterious disappearance and their record label dropped them because it was too much bad media attention.

Everyone went their separate ways, once Ayla decided to take some vacations over Europe their friendships grew apart, it seemed like the one who stuck them together was Abrielle, and she was still missing. But Ayla didn't know this, she was anxious to see her friends now that summer is over today. She was trying to be excited, but she knew deep down inside she wasn't the same. Nothing was ever going to be the same ever again, she was marked. Everywhere she went her past followed her, people took pictures and whispered behind her back. She was the flunk-popstar with a missing best friend.

Hayley picked a glittery tight skirt in her hands, her silver-painted fingernails disguising into it. She smiled to herself imagining her wearing it, it would compliment her legs perfectly and it would drag everyone's attention, just like she loves getting. She checks the price tag and her stomach drops, $126.00 dollars and it was not on sale. She groans and rolls her eyes and places the skirt back.

"I have a better skirt anyway." She particularly says to no one, quickly walking into the sunglasses department. The guy working there smiles in a flirty way towards her, and she takes that as her cue. "Time to win some free pair of sunglasses." She thinks and begins twirling her hair.

Skyler stands near-by, trying to pick something to wear for her sisters' arrival dinner. Her sister is the famous and not dropped by a label popstar, Melissa Fray. She's what everyone is raving about, from her tall and smooth curves to her voice comparison to Mariah Carey. She is here to eat with her family in celebration of her tour ending with One Direction (yes, she indeed replaced her sisters' band, and if she had the chance to do it again she would), and finding another one of those perfect popstar boyfriends that their only problem in their life is using a working microphone.

She uses her skinny long finger to trace the detail in the fitted dress she holds in her hands, it is cream colored and it's long enough for her tall figure. Before she can walk towards the check-out section, someone taps her shoulder which makes her turn around and gawk at who it is. Hayley stands in front of her, smirking like she usually does now.

"Look who it is, Skyler Fray. I didn't know you had the time to apply for the mayor's internship, volunteer in every single shelter here in Rosewood, apply for the best colleges plus shop." Hayley teases, Skyler chuckles and breathes in.

"Well, I am known for having an overly-scheduled calendar." She smiles clutching her bag closer to her shoulder.

"What's the occasion?" Hayley asks.

"Melissa's coming home and she's bringing yet another one of her boring boyfriends, go figure." Skyler responds. When they were friends, Melissa had this picture-perfect boyfriends who was practically got out of an Abercrombie catalogue. The problem was he was so boring and annoying, it made Skyler puke. Although not so much when they-- I've said too much.

"Oh, well in that case you need this." Hayley bites her lip grabbing a purple skimmed top from the clothing hanger beside them, it was beautiful and perfect. Hayley was now known as the fashionable one, something she was definitely criticized before when they were in the band. She was geeky, and straight out in-perfect. Now she is in charge of every single detail about her, she makes sure that not even one hair of hers is out of place. She is the it girl after all.

Someone had to be, after Abrie's disappearance.

Skyler ended up buying both items, Hayley walked right around the sunglasses section, making sure no one saw her leave. She adjust the now new pair of Jacqueline Onassis, and greats a smaller, curvier girl outside of Tiffany's, with a new pair of earrings. They both walk out of the Rosewood mall, with the background music playing the classic Britney Spears song, Oops I did it Again. Hayley smirked, indeed she did.
