"Girls! Hurry up! It is time to leave!" My mom was yelling at us. I finished my makeup and grabbed my bag. My outfit was pretty basic. Just a pair of black jeans, some black converse, and a big over sized dog sweater. "Girls!" My mom yelled one final time. I fixed my curls and ran downstairs. "Geesh, we're not gonna be late mom. We can take all our time because we still have to get a tour first" I said. "Okay that is true, but you don't want to set off a bad impression!" Mickey ran downstairs. "Where is my backpack?!" She yelled. "Dude you left it in my room yesterday. It's in the closet" I said. She ran back upstairs to get her bag.
Suzie and Bloom walked downstairs, Roy soon following. "Alright, i'm going to drop Roy off at school and take Dawn to hers. Bloom, please make your senior year the best year, okay?" Mom said. "Yeah, yeah, yeah, I understand mom. Now I have to go. I still have to talk to dad. Bye, love you. Girls, i'll see you at school. Please wait for me in the parking lot!" She rushed out of the house into her pink jeep wrangler. "Hurry up girls, the school is a 5 minute drive!" Mickey came back down. We said goodbye to mom and headed for my bright blue jeep wrangler.
"Oh my god Kaysie it's so cold in here! Please put the heat on!" Suzie complained. "Dude I have to put the defroster on anyways. It'll warm up in a second. I could see my breath in the car. I blasted the heat. After a minute or so, it finally started to defrost. "Shit, it's 6:55 Kaysie! School starts in 5 minutes!" Mickey exclaimed. "It's okay, it's only 5 minutes away! And we have to wait for Bloom anyways, and we'll still need a tour. Just like the principle told mom."
I backed out of the driveway and drove down to school. Mom was right, it took 5 minutes. I parked right next to Bloom's car. She saw us and waved. We all got out of the car and headed to the front door. We walked in and found the main office right away. "Hello. May I help you?" The lady asked. "Yes, um, we're the Thirlwalls. We're the new students" Bloom said. "Oh great! I will get the tour guide volunteers to show you around! In the mean time, Kylie will give you your schedules!" The lady went into the other room and "Kylie" went up to us with 4 pieces of paper.
"Mickey?" She asked. Mickey raised her hand. She was handed her schedule. Then it was Bloom, then Suzie, and finally me. Of course, we all compared our classes. Mickey and I have algebra 2 and english together. Suzie and I have chemistry and history together. Mickey, Suzie and I all have culinary arts together. For some reason, Bloom and I have zoology class with each other. "Wait, why does a senior and a junior have a class together?" Bloom asked. "Oh, right. All electives are combined with all grades. So your zoology and culinary classes will have all grades mixed together."
"Oh, okay, thank you" Just as I finished my sentence, the door opened. In came 3 boys and a girl. "Oh great! You're here!" The first lady said. "Ladies, these are your tour guides: Hunter, Blake, Ariel, and Mark. Now, Blake you are assigned to Bloom. Mark is for Mickey. Ariel is for Suzie. And Hunter you are with Kaysie." She then introduced us. Hunter went up to me and smiled. "Hey, i'm Hunter. Hunter Rowland."
"I'm Kaysie. Kaysie Thirlwall." I smiled. He stuck his hand out and I gladly shook it. "Can I see?" He asked as he pointed to my schedule. I handed it to him. "You're in luck! We have Algebra, Culinary and English together." He said. "Yay! I'm going to know someone other than my sisters" I chuckled. He laugh and took my wrist in his. "Let's go!" He said. I grabbed my bag and we left the office and headed to the hallway. "This class right here is your English class. We actually start here today." I nodded, making a mental note. Then we started again.
He went down a flight of stairs, i'm guessing to the basement. This is where your algebra class is. It will be second period for you today" Then we were off again, back to the main floor. We went all the way to the back of the hallway. "This is your chemistry class. Your 3rd period today." He then went into a little side hall. "This is where the bathroom is, and your 4th period, history class, is also the next door over. It says History on it. You wont miss it if you forget." He chuckled. I lightly laughed and he grabbed my wrist again. "Now the second floor!"
He pulled me up a new flight of stairs. "This, is where all the electives are. And most importantly, the cafeteria!" He laughed and ran to the cafeteria like a little kid. I chased his down the hall. "This, is the cafeteria. You buy the lunch on that side of the cafe and then you sit on this side. Lucky for you, we have lunch together today." He then took my back to the door we came to and turned left instead. "Right here is the kitchen, this is also your culinary class. 5th period"
He pulled me all the way to the back. "Finally, this is your zoology class, 6th period. You're so lucky you get this class because you get to go to the zoo a lot!" He laughed. I laughed too and he brought me back to the main floor.
"You have English from 7-8. Then math from 8-9. Then chemistry from 9-10. History from 10-11. Then you have lunch from 11-11:30, for today at least. Then from 11:30-12 you have a study hall. That's when you have first lunch. If you have second lunch, like you have tomorrow, the you would have study hall from 11-11:30 and lunch from 11:30-12. Then culinary is 12-1. And zoology is from 1-2. Then at 2 the bell rings and you go home. But tomorrow your schedule will switch. So you'll have math then English. Then you'll have history them chemistry. And at the end of the day you'll have zoology then culinary. The blocks switch. It's confusing at first but it will get easier."
I said okay and took a deep breath. "Hey, it's okay. Come on, let's go to English." We walked up the hall to English and I saw Mark and Mickey heading the same way. "You girls ready for class?" Mark asked. "I guess we have to be" I joked. Everyone chuckled and Mark knocked on the door. An older guy answered the door. "Oh my, new students! Come on in! Introduce yourselves!" He said. He let us in and we stared at the class. "I'm Kaysie" I said. "And i'm Mickey"
"Good, good! You can sit in the back left corner. We set up two spaces right near each other for you!" We sat in our seats and hunter sat in front of me. Mark was the next row next to Mickey. "Don't worry. I'm right here" Hunter whispered. I couldn't help but smile and blush. Let's hope this day goes right.
