"Estelle."
I haven't heard that name in years. Colin sat on the floor next to me and put his hand on my back to console me. Too late.
*flashback*
"Did I ever tell you why I named you Estelle?" My dad asked as he pulled me into his lap.
"Daddy, you pretty much tell me every day," I playfully rolled my eyes and smiled.
"I love you so much that I have to keep reminding you. Estelle, you're very important to me. I want you to know that. I love you, baby."
"I love you too."
"The name Estelle is a French name that means star. I named you Estelle because you are my shining star. Your beautiful brown eyes twinkle like stars in the night. Baby, you light up my world. You know that?" My dad looked me in my eyes.
I nodded, "Yes, I know."
"Good. Now let's go make some breakfast for Momma."
*end flashback*
"Estelle, are you alright? I'm getting kind of worried," Colin rubbed my back.
I sat up next to him, "No one's called me that in so long. It feels so weird hearing it."
"Yeah," Colin agreed.
I wiped away my tears with my sleeve. I felt a little bit better having Colin here with me.
"I'm really sorry about earlier. I know I can have some issues, and I didn't mean to take them out on you." I apologize for my words.
Colin gives me a slight smile, "You've been through a lot. I understand. I shouldn't have pushed you so hard."
"You didn't do-"
I'm cut off by a sharp noise coming from outside the room.
"What the fuck was that?" Colin whisper-screams to me.
"Dude, I have no idea, but I pretty sure it's no bueno. Whatever it is." I stand up. Colin follows suit.
I walk outside of the bedroom and walk through the hallway in order to get to the front door. I look to my right and I am faced with my worst nightmare.
