The alarm that sat on the black, dusty nightstand, vibrated the room with its annoying ring. Parker's eyes fluttered as the ringing began, he extended his legs into a half stretch. His usual soreness radiated off of his body with each movement, even the small ones. Slowly, he sat his body into an upright position in attempt to wake himself up. A sigh escaped his lips as his hands drew up to his eyes in attempt to get the eye crust out. One leg at a time, he swung them over the bed and placed them on the carpet. His eyes trailed to the sky lights of his room to see rain drops flowing down with the reflection of the street lights giving them a beauty that was so commonly seen, but never appreciated. The sound of the rain came as the visuals came into account. The flow of the sky water was quite slow, it created a soothing effect for him. Placing all of his weight on his feet, he stood up rather quickly realizing the time.

Traveling to his closet, he selected his favorite comfortable joggers, fashionable camouflage patterned shirt, with socks and shoes. Parker enjoys putting outfits together, it was like a puzzle with a reward in the end; he enjoyed things that worked together to create some sort of solution. The shouts from downstairs could easily be heard from his room upstairs; his parents have never gotten along even when he was only a toddler. Most were about money and cheating; his family was definitely financially stable, they were even higher class, but both of his parents had a history of cheating on each other. Each time had different excuses, but to Parker none of them justified their actions, but he seemed to be the only one in that household to see it all that way.

Parker slung his bag over his right shoulder and flipped off the light switch on his way out of the now dark bedroom. The screams got louder and louder with ach step down the stairs, his eyes rolled in response; he wanted to escape them, they did not even pay attention to him anymore so why would he want to be there?

"Hey Park." His father said as he entered the kitchen, wearing one of his Star Wars aprons that he got for Father's day from his little brother, Brody. Parker returned a smile that came with a thankful nod as he scanned the kitchen for his mother. A grunt of frustration gave away her location, inside the coat closet., her short blonde hair swung as she aggressively searched for her own. He knew the usual morning drill with her losing her coat every single day. Without saying a word to her, he moved the kitchen chair back and pulled the black North Face jacket out and pushed the chair in. Nudging her gently, she snapped her head to him then her eyes filled with relief.

"Thank you Parker, what would I do without you my sweet boy?" She said as she embraced him and he returned the hug tightly. He loved his family, but he just wasn't meant to be there anymore. A chuckle was heard behind him interrupting the moment, he knew deep down what was about to happen because it's literally every morning. "I swear Charles if you make fun of me again I'll-" Her words were interrupted by the Emergency system on the television. The three filed into the living room to watch the announcement.

The governor of Oklahoma stood behind a wooden podium with a grim face, raising an anxiety in Parker and everyone else must be feeling it too, everything stopped in the moment in wait for the big news. The entire street froze in anticipation for the words to come out of the important figure's mouth. "It better not be that damn outbreak where dead people come alive." His dad muttered to himself, but everyone could hear him. Parker was frozen on the edge of the leather loveseat with his parents on the opposite couch. Biting his lip and tapping his foot repeatedly, he pushed his hair back looking for something to distract him.

"Good morning. I have a very announcement, inform others of this vital information. I have an emergency alert for the state of Oklahoma. We have received an outbreak that is deemed credible. If you are near the area of Tulsa or anywhere in Oklahoma at this point, prepare immediately for possible evacuation. Listen for instructions from fellow government officials or local authorities and follow them quickly and carefully. These people are severely ill, they are not safe to be around, they have zombie like symptoms. They appear with gruesome, decaying appearances and crave to be physical with you. Do not, I repeat, do not allow them to make any sort of contact. You will show similar symptoms within twenty-four hours and there has been no found cure. Schools and workplaces will be open today, but be prepared for evacuation. I will follow up on this important announcement."
