Percy's pov

Percy quickly cut out five blue paper hearts and scribbled the names of his family on them: Annabeth, Phionna, Weston, Markko, and Aquajewel. Next, he copied a poem onto each card:

Roses are blue

Violets are blue

Have a happy blue Valentine's Day!

Love,

Dad

Percy smiled to himself, not noticing a dark figure slipping into the kitchen. He set the valentines down on the marble island at each of their spots.

"Hi dad!" Phionna's voice startled Percy. He looked up at his ten year old daughter and laughed.

"Phi, it's past midnight! What are you doing awake?"

"I'm hungry," Phionna said plainly, pushing her long black hair out of her stormy grey eyes. "I came to the kitchen for a snack."

"Reminds me of myself when I was a kid," Percy said, his eyes dreamy, as if he were looking back a long time, which he wasn't. Phionna raised her eyebrows.

"When you were a kid? How about now?"

"Hey, don't make fun of my eating habits," Percy joked. "You know how good your mother's blue cookies are..."

"Yeah, I guess," Phionna admitted. She yawned and reached for a banana.

"Night, sweetheart," Percy said, giving his daughter an encouraging push towards the staircase. She scrambled up to bed. Percy grinned, glad Phionna hadn't noticed the blue valentines.

"Time for bed," he said, heading upstairs after Phionna. He pulled off his shirt and jeans and pulled a baggy t-shirt over his shoulders. His wife, Annabeth, was sound asleep. He decided to join her.

Weston's pov

"Happy blue Valentine's Day!" Percy said as Weston walked into the kitchen for breakfast.

"Thanks, dad!" Weston said as he read the blue card sitting on his table spot. "This is nice!"

"Yeah, good one, seaweed brain," Weston's mom said, pushing her golden hair out of her face. Weston still didn't know why his parents called each other seaweed brain and wise girl, but Weston's dad said the tradition must not be broken. At least everything worked out between them. They never argued over their nicknames, but Weston decided he wanted to keep it that way.
