Cameron's POV

I'm just a normal girl in high school. I'm just like you. I wake up to an alarm clock like you do. my life is always the same. But something changed my life just a few days ago.

I woke up at 6:00 to get ready for school. Oh shit I forgot to do my homework! I scurry to finish my breakfast and get on my clothes. I run to the bathroom to brush my hair and teeth. I had no choice but to put on some quick makeup. Oh god I forgot to wake up my best friend and favorite cousin, Audrey! We live together and her alarm clock broke. I ran to get her awake. when I told her the time she got so pissed so I had to make her breakfast while she did everything she needed to do independently. Oh great, I have to run to the bus stop. I hollered to Audrey and ran super fast! I told the bus driver to wait.after that it was a normal school day.

At sunset, Audrey and I took a walk down at the beach. I saw something and I knew it was in trouble. OH MY GOD! I told Audrey right away. IT WAS A WASHED UP MANATEE! Manatees are my favorite animals. We hurried down the shore and immediately called 911.

When they got to the beach they thanked us and put him in a tank. I asked why they were putting him in a tank instead of letting him free. The people said he was in such bad shape that they had to bring him back to the aquarium. One man who I guessed was the manager asked us what we wanted to name the manatee. Audrey and I agreed that we would name him after my stuffed animal Maynard.

After that, Audrey and I got passes so we can go in for free and not have to wait in line at the aquarium for a life time pass. Maynard met new friends and became the most famous manatee in Georgia! We even get to feed Maynard sometimes. And Audrey and I even got a lot of publicity. But we realized its not about publicity but it's about saving an animal that was becoming extinct!
