Being with Michael: Part 1 (Book Two)

Chapter Two

The Grammy's were astonishingly successful. Paige wooed and charmed everyone.

And now she had to charm Michael's entire family at the dinner he was hosting.

Michael was relieved because he thought it was going very well, Paige instantly won over the family, including his children, siblings, parents, and cousins.

It wasn't until everyone left that he became worried.

Afterwards, in the limo on the way to drop her off, Paige sat on the end of the seat biting her lip and staring out the window the entire time.

As Michael was walking her up to the door of her apartment, he asks, "What's wrong?"

Paige shakes her head and replies, "Nothing."

Then Michael sits down on a bench and pats for Paige to join him.

She sighs before sitting down.

He says, "You're obviously thinking deeply about something."

He notices Paige playing with her hands as she explains, "I was talking to your siblings today and they told me a little about your past relationships, which is fine. That's not any of my business. But they also told me about the drugs."

Michael leans back and looks up into the sky exasperation and she continues, "I knew you had sleeping problems, but you can't be doing this. And if I try to stop you, I'm not going to allow you kicking me out like other people so you can get what you want. I love you, Michael, but I can't sit by and watch, so if that's going to be a problem for you, I better leave now. Because I absolutely cannot deal with this kind of thing again."

She's shaking now, hoping she won't regret this moment, and Michael is shocked.

But of all the things rushing through his head at that moment, all he can concentrate on is that last sentence.

He asks her, "What do you mean by 'again'?"
