I jumped.

She died instantly.
A man was driving across the bridge when she took her own life. He pulled over, his wife and two year old boy confused.
He peered over the bridge. The girl laid lifeless in the water.
He dialled 9-1-1.

They pronounced her dead at the hospital. Her mom dropped to her knees and screamed. Her father froze, eyes wide. Her little sister started crying instantly.

Her mother made the call to her beat friend. She hung up the phone as soon as the words 'suicide' left her lips.

Her father passed the message on to her teacher.
The teacher was in tears immediately. She was told to inform the students.
Her friend Eamon was first to break. He stood up and ran outside the classroom. The assistant ran after him.
Adya clapped her hand over her lips and sobbed.

The school held a memorial service a day later. Julia, her best friend, made the trip.
Her friends Ian, Adam, and Aiden sang her favourite song, The Story Of Tonight.
She usually took John Laurens' part, so when it approached, Julia chimes in.
"Raise a glass, to freedom..."

The people of her small town were silent. Most of whom were strangers. Still, they cared. A little person can go to a long way.

At the funeral, she was there.
Adam, Julia, Ian, and Aiden sang again.
She was still in the original outfit.
When Julia walked up to the casket, she found a slip of paper sticking out of her pocket.

I may not live to see our glory....
