Harry was still staying in Marian's flat. He couldn't bring himself to leave it. She loved this flat and her aura was in every inch of it. It made him feel better by being there. After his conversation with his mother, she insisted on finishing the final details at the house. She even hired a few guys to help her. She wanted it to be ready for when Marian was released from the hospital. Anne was more hopeful than he was about her recovery.
Jeremy had come over and Harry had never been more thankful to Louis in his life. He told Harry that Louis had called filled him in on everything that was going on and for the first time gave him a genuine hug and told him not to worry his daughter because she was a trooper and she was going to make it. He apologized for how he had been treating him as well, that he had just wanted to the best for his daughter and that he would do the same for Faith as well. Their talk and Jeremy's hug, for some weird reason, made him feel better.
He brought Faith home from the hospital two days after her birth and it broke Harry's heart that it was just the two of them and not three. He hated the fact that Marian was still lying in her bed, not moving, not reacting. Just lying there. So Faith's homecoming was bittersweet. When he got there, his mum and sister, as well as Jeremy and Rosalie, were there waiting for them with open arms.
He had left Faith with Rosalie and Jeremy. Only a couple days old and already so demanding. She loved to be held and hated to be put down which led to Harry getting very little sleep. Today he was going to go see Marian again. The last time he went, all he did was cry and mumble her name. He was going to see Kaia today, hoping it would help him actually form words when he saw his wife. He drove to Zayn's and knocked on the door. He wondered how the twins were taking the news about Marian if they even knew.
Kaia heard the knock and answered the door. She smiled when she saw Harry and she could see how exhausted he looked. She pulled him in for a hug. "You look like you haven't slept in days."
"Faith is up every two hours and will never let me set her down for more than a minute. Screams her head off until I pick her back up." Harry said a little worriedly "Marian's mum is watching her today so I can try to take a nap and see Marian. Would you like to go with me to see her?"
"Oh Harry," she said. "Why didn't you let me know. I could've come over to help you," she said. She took his hand and pulled him inside and they sat down. "I would love to go with you," she said.
"She wants her mummy, I can feel it and I didn't want to bother anyone. I was going to be super dad, but apparently, after one day I can't hack it." He ran his hands through his hair. "How are Zayn and the twins doing?"
"They're okay," she said. "We've only told them that she had the baby, but now she has a really bad cold so she can't come home yet." She said. "I think they're a little too young yet to know the truth. And Zayn is...he's having a really hard time, to be honest." She gave him a small smile. "And yes, you can hack it, Harry. She may know her mummy isn't right there with her, but she knows she's got the next best thing. You."
"Thanks, Kaia I appreciate that. Faith has gone from hearing her mother's voice for months to nothing. I guess that would freak out anyone. I just want to be a good dad like Zayn." He said with a half smile. "Anything I can do to help him or is he in full research mode?"
"He is a good Dad and you're going to be a great dad too," she said with a smile. "He's up all hours of the night researching heart transplants, recovery. You name it he's looking," she said with a heavy sigh. "Maybe he can go with you tomorrow to see her. I think it might help his state of mind a little."
