We went to our respective stations. Because I am an intern in this restaurant, I was not immediately given a station and therefore I have to bus tables or so for a week until we can figure out what station I can take.
The restaurant works like a well-oiled machine. Kiyoshi works in the kitchen with Ezio as the head chef. Kali, Charle, and I (for the moment), on the other hand, work on the floor as the servers.
Many customers poured in. They gave a lot of orders, and we gave them their orders, as quickly as we can, while maintaining quality.Fast Forward
"That was a good day," remarked Kali.
"Yes, indeed," I reply.
"Why don't we eat out? As a welcoming party for Kay," Ezio suggested.
"Ok, sure!" I replied.
"Then, where to?", Ezio asked.
"I dunno let's walk around to look for a good place to eat," I said.We walked around the neighborhood to look for a good restaurant. We walked and walked until I saw a Chinese restaurant.
"I know! Why don't we eat over there?", I exclaimed while pointing at the Chinese restaurant.
"Uhm, Kay, you may not realize this but... they're our competitors," Kali said.
"But... but... I wanted Chinese food," I pouted. I look at them with sad-puppy eyes but they still wouldn't budge. After a few moments, they finally gave in."Fine...." Ezio moaned, "It's your welcoming party anyway." I jumped for joy. We went inside the restaurant. A Korean male greeter , of course, greeted us and led us to our table. I also noticed many stares to our direction from many members of the staff. We finally get to sit down. It was a six-seated rectangular table, with three chairs at both sides. Curiously, Charle and I sat beside Kali, while Ezio and Kiyoshi sat at the other side. Ezio and Kiyoshi glanced at each other, as if they were having a silent conversation. After that, we then chatted and ordered our meal.
While we were eating, I asked Kali, who was in the next seat, to get a nearby plate, because I can't reach it. As I watch the plate, I began to look at Kali. I look at his brown skin, his toned muscles.... Wait, what am I thinking here?! He is a co-worker! He is just a co-worker!
While we were eating, a Chinese man sat in the vacant seat.
"What are you doing here, Pan To Ye Man?" Ezio asked to the strange guy.
"Why I own the place so is it not fitting for me to sit anywhere?" Said Pan To.
"C'mon, guys. Let's get out of here," grumbled Ezio. We all murmured in agreement. We promptly got out of the restaurant (I don't even know if we paid the bill.) As we walked away, I asked Ezio, "Who was that guy back there?"
"He is the restaurant's owner," he grumbled. I didn't want to pry so I let the subject be for now. After that we wandered around the streets, exploring the nightlife and the streets and such. We saw that there was a festival and, of course, we joined in in the fun. We bought some food, played games, and such. While I was walking with the group, I didn't notice that tiny hard pebble. I then tripped on said pebble. Luckily my friends were with me, and Kali caught me in his arms.
"Are you alright?" He asked. "Yeah, I am..." I replied. We stared into each other's eyes and we both blushed. He helped me stand up from the ground, and then we stood, our eyes looking away, still blushing. The group just looked at us and shrugged. After that, we went on our separate ways because it was late and we have to go to work tomorrow. As I walked by myself on the oath to my home, I realized I was thankful for that tiny little pebble. I blush as I went home.
