I wake up to hear Work Work by Clipping blaring on my speakers. All of the warriors of Caya had personalized sound systems that played different songs for different occasions. Work Work, for me, meant I had to either go on a mission or be the person in the chair. You know, the person in the chair who tells you where the bomb is and tracks people and stuff.

You see, I'm a part of a group of highly trained people with powers, defending the earth from this dick bag evil goddess. I'll get back to that later. I had been a part of this group for two years, since I was eighteen, but I haven't encountered anything truly horrifying, yet. I'm usually the person in the chair though, because I'd rather be on Tumblr than do menial labor. I am, in fact, in charge of the technology sector.

I crawl out of bed, and fall into the floor. To clarify, the floor of my room is a pool. Each person in the group, or the warriors of Caya, as we call ourselves, has powers focussed on an element. I was the water warrior, so there was a theme going on with my room, but most of the other warriors didn't do that. I slip on a sheer black crop top and black leggings. I swim to my desk next to the door and grab my phone, walking out. Checking it, I see that it's 1:00 am. The moment I'm out of my room, Work Work turns off. I use my hydrokinesis to draw the water out of my clothing and hair and into the pool.

"It's an underwater mission," Nyxa says once I enter. Nyxa is the Wind warrior, and is the strategist and tactition.

"Nice to see you too, Nyxa," I reply, yawning. "You need my hydro-transportation?"

Nyxa nods. When Biu, my best friend, and the lovely fire warrior walks in, I smile. She walks hand in hand with her girl friend, Alsinoe, who also just so happens to be the dragon warrior. It's not techincally an element, but it's an essential part of Cayan culture. The dragon warrior was actually a thing created by Ilyo--the evil sadistic asshole I said I'd tell you about--to fight the warriors, but the original dragon warrior rebeled and was like, "Yo the other warriors are so chill, Ima join them,"

"Hey El," Biu greets me, then sits on the couch, Alsinoe lying on her lap on her phone. I wave to the both of them.

"Wing kinks," Alsinoe mutters. It's a Destiel thing.

"Okay, so I'll go. We could have Alsinoe in the chair, but... water dragons could be useful. What's the goal of the mission?"

"Some merfolk sunk a Cayan ship and kidnapped a passenger. We go in, save the passenger, and get out," Nyxa replied.

"Give me one reason we shouldn't just send some underlings to do it," I demand. There are lesser warriors to go on lesser missions, such as saving individual people who were captured by horny sirens, and the type of things they do in the first season of Supernatural.

"The passanger was Nohollo," Nyxa said grimly.

"Dear god." Nohollo is my dear friend, and crush, although nobody knew that. He is the earth warrior, a powerful ally, and horrifying enemy. I had given him the ability to breath underwater years ago, but it still didn't come easily for anyone but myself. "I'll go. Nyxa, you're coming with us. Alsinoe's coming, and... Balth, you're at the computer. Electricty in water would sooner kill us all than help us."

"Why does Biu get to go?" He glared at me. He doesn't like me. Probably because I'm a headstrong and stubborn twat. He also knew me in highschool, which helps. Alsinoe and I have always butted heads, but we don't hate eachother. She's sometimes fun to talk to. May and I get along alright. Biu and I are great friends, though I often find myself third wheeling her and Alsinoe. Nohollo is the only person I'm truly comfortable with. He exepts me, twatiness and all. And he's forever alone, so I don't have to third wheel anyone.

"Because, Biu is skilled in espionage. She's also a better swimmer. She's better at controlling her breath whilst breathing underwater."

"Fine," Balthazar scoffed.

"You'll be mostly checking heat signatures. Monitering the halls, making sure we don't get caught. You need to develope a telepathic link between all of us. If you hurt my baby, I'll rip you limb from limb," I instruct.

"I won't break your computer," Balthazar tells me, rolling his eyes. "You don't have to be so violent."

"Biu, you're with El. Don't use your powers. You'll boil the water. You two are going to go head on to get Nohollo. Eve and I will stand watch 100 paces away. El, you'll need to get us their," Nyxa commands.

"Balthazar, I need a read on where he is," I stressed. He placed his palm on my forhead, and I saw a vision of a large room with two gaurds outside of it. In front their was one of those lazer courses like from Chuck (a really god TV show I totally recomend). All of this was empty of water. "I'd have to transport us right outside. The room was waterless."

No more words said, Balth set up the telapathic link between me, Nyxa, and himself. I teleported us to the entrance of where they were holding Nohollo.

Biu and I snuck into the first room. I used my hydrokinesis to make sure none of the water from outside got in. When Biu and I got in, I drew the water out of our clothes and skin with my powers. Seeing the lazer course, I poked it. Nothing happened. No James Bond magical fire lazers. Biu let out a little gasp.

"How did you know that would work?" She whispered anxiously.

"Fire lazers haven't been invented yet," I replied, my voice meeting her level of quiet. We walked through the decorative lazers, and opened the door. Biu knocked out the gaurds with the hilt of her dagger, and I examined their skin. It was scaly and waterproof. "Amazing..."

"That's what she said," Nohollo uttered from across the room. I flipped him off.

I took out my dagger and carved off a chunk of one of the gaurds skin, and stuck it in my pocket. Biu carefully burned the iron of Nohollo's chains untill they were a glob on the floor. We all crept back to the hall, where a small blue water dragon about the size of me was helping Eve and Nyxa fight a dozen merfolk. They grabbed my arm and I teleported us out.
