Poppy

She's the off girl. The girl who everyone notices for weird things. She dresses weird in colorful, bright clothes that make her stand out from everyone else. Her fashion sense being different from the trends. And she gets away with it because she's an artist. Everyone loves to look at her, waiting for the next big thing she'll wear. The biggest attention puller being her paint covered overalls, a new spot being filled every class. She has three. Black, navy blue and light blue, each having their own amount of paint stains. Even though she draws attention, she hates it. In fact, she would rather be alone with her thoughts. Thoughts that unfortunately lead to anxiety attacks. Entertainment for Sadie and her friends. Poppy hates everyone but she pretends to enjoy life so that others wouldn't see right through her. The only times she feels at ease is when she's alone. Until that changes.

"He's just so adorable," Poppy stared at the floor with a smile. "And he just walks around telling people what to do?"

"And you like him for that?" Jenna furrowed her brows.

"No..I mean, he seems like he knows what he wants."

"More like he seems like a man. That's how they all are."

"Please don't start, Jen."

"It's about time you got what you want anyway. You should talk to him."

"I can't-"

"Hey, Fisher!"

Poppy's smile dropped. "What are you doing?"

Fisher started walking over to them.

"Hi, Fisher," Jenna grinned.

"Hi," he looked at her then he looked at Poppy.

Poppy looked away.

"Do you have a class right now?" Jenna looked at Poppy.

She shook her head. "I told you that I don't a few minutes ago."

"Okay. How about you, Fish?"

Fisher shook his head. "I don't either."

"Do you wanna hang out with us?" Jenna shrugged.

He smiled. "Okay. I mean, people don't usually ask me to hang out with them."

"Why?" Poppy furrowed her brows.

"Because they think I'm weird. I'm a snitch so...wouldn't want me around," he snickered.

Poppy stared at his smile then she looked into his eyes. "I want you around."

Jenna's eyes grew.

"Thank you," Fisher chuckled.

Jenna cleared her throat. "Where do you guys wanna go?"

"I usually sit in Mrs. Taylor's classroom and read on my free periods. You guys can come there too if you like."

"Poppy?" Jenna looked at Poppy waiting for her to reply.

"Okay," she nodded and smiled at Fisher.

Jenna looked at her watch. "Oh shoot. I completely forgot."

Poppy quickly turned to her.

"I actually have Physics right now. But you guys can still hang out, right Fisher?"

He smiled at Poppy. "Of course. I don't mind."

All of Poppy's confidence slipped away with Jenna as she walked away. Her phone suddenly buzzed.
