Jason

Andreas is back in town. Get here NOW.
My breath hitched in my throat as I read the text from my brother. Andreas Botecelli is back, this is not good. I thought to myself. Three years ago, a drug delivery went completely wrong, and unfortunately the Botecellis were a part of it. Lorenzo Botecelli, my father's best friend turned rival, owned a series of mattress stores which was where the drugs were always taken to. My older brother Luke and Lorenzo's two sons Arty and Andreas would pick up the drugs which were imported from Cuba. The drugs would always be hidden in several huge suitcases, which were always placed in certain specific spots in the airport; one in the men's restroom, another one would be handed over to them by a woman that was to pose as one of their lovers, and the last one was hands to them by a 'security guard' who would act as if he were returning the lots luggage to its owner. They would always get away, not once had they ever been found out. They would then drive the suitcases to the back of the mattress factory where the storage garages were. There would always be several mattress stored inside for the purpose of nobody knowing what was actually happening. Luke, Arty and Andreas would store the drugs inside the mattresses, and then load the mattresses onto a truck, which Arty would always drive; my brother and Andreas would always take the car's back to the mattress store where Lorenzo, my father and everyone else involved would be waiting to make sure nothing ever went wrong, but unfortunately that night, something did go horribly wrong.
The truck broke down, so Arty called Luke for help. Luke tried to get there as fast as possible so that no cops would get to the truck, but because he was speeding, he cops tried to pull him over. He wouldn't pull over, he couldn't risk being recognized since Leo, our eldest brother was a cop and the whole station knew our family but knew nothing of our secret illegal endeavors.
The cops chased him down all the way to the truck. They were lucky though, because that night, the cop driving the car was Leo, but he also had his partner with him. His partner obviously recognized Luke, and also recognized Arty. Arty had his hand on his gun which was in the waistband of his jeans just in case. Leo's partner spotted it, pointed the gun at Arty and told him to step out of the back of the truck with his hands up in the air. Arty refused, and just backed up out of fear of being arrested and getting his family caught. When he backed up, a thread from his shirt got caught on the zipper of one of the mattresses and when he moved it caused the zipper to come undone a little bit. There was bags of heroine and blocks of coke in the mattresses, and a corner of a block of coke stuck out of the opening. Artsy tried to cover it up but it was too late. Leo's partner called for back up and tried to forcefully get Arty out of the truck. Artsy was resisting and he was getting angry. He got so angry that he took out his gun; he took out his gun and shot Leo's partners right between his eyes, then shot his twice more.
The whole scene was chaotic and adrenaline filled. Out of defense of his partner, and out of police protocol, Leo shot Arty. He shot Arty straight through the heart. At first they didn't know what to do, they both stared at each other of shock, then came out of their senses; they started arguing, and Luke punched Leo. Leo got him to calm down, and told Luke to just go home, and told him he would take care of it. Luke hurriedly got in the car and drove home.
Later we all found out the story that Leo fed to the cops at the scene. Leo told them that they found Arty in the back of the truck messing around with the mattresses. He told them his partner spotted the drugs. He said that before his partner could even tell him to step away from the mattress that Arty shot him. Then he told them he shot them out of defense. When Lorenzo found out he went absolutely mad. He tried to kill both of my brothers. Then he tried to kill my father; he felt betrayed. That night caused a drift between the McCanns and the Botecellis. For the rest of the year Lorenzo did whatever he could to get bad at my father, including trying to kidnap my innocent mother who my father has somehow been able to keep clueless about what he and the rest of us do for a living. Lorenzo had his henchman break into my house while nobody but my mother was home, and they grabbed her. She fought so hard, screaming and crying for her life. My mother was so lucky because my father went home early that day. My mother insisted my father call the cops but he saying he would take care of it.
Later that night he went to go try to talk to Lorenzo and tell him how sorry he was about what my brother did to his son, by Lorenzo would have none of it. They argued for hours, even got into it and started beating each other. But surprisingly, Lorenzo gave up. He gave up on trying to avenge his dead son and left us all alone. That week we later found out that the Botecellis packed up and just left. They moved out of Florida, out of America completely; they went to Italy. So for the past three years we had seen or heard of anything about the Botecellis, until now.
"Jason?" I heard my name being called and I looked up and saw Nina, I had completely forgotten where I was for a few minutes.
"Oh, uh, I'm sorry Nina but I really have to go. Something came up and my brother needs me."
For a moment I saw a look of disappointment on her gorgeous face, but it quickly passed.
"It's okay don't worry about it; family first. Is everything okay?" She said, a concerned look on her face.
"I don't know I just know it's important. Again I'm really sorry. Can I get your number though? Maybe we can do this again sometime." I smiled as I handed her my phone. She was intriguing and beautiful and I wanted to know more about her, but right now was just not a good time.
She typed her number in and saved it to my contacts.
"Here you go, it was nice to meet you, I hope everything is okay with your brother." She said as she handed me back her phone, a closed-lipped smile playing on her face.
"Thank you babe," I replied as a grabbed my phone from her and slid it into my back pocket. "I'll text you." I sent a wink her way as I walked passed her and out the doors, also hurriedly paying Darla for my meal. As I walked back to my car and tested Luke with a sigh.

On my way.
After pressing send I shot Nina a text ask in her if we could do this again Friday. I backed out of the driveway and sped down the road towards my home.
Eveything's gonna be fine, he can't touch us. I thought to myself.
Deep down I knew that we were fucked; we should have known better than to think the Botecellis would just go down without a fight. This is war...
