M'Baku x Reader: Compromising

    Y/N'S POV

   I stood outside and tears fell down my face as I had heard about what happened to King T'Challa. T'Challa was a close friend of mine, even though T'Challa and M'Baku didn't have the best relation with one another. I didn't know whether they were friends or not, but I knew they challenged one another. I also knew that T'Challa let M'Baku live in order to watch over his people. T'Challa had earned my respect for letting my whole life return to me.

   As I held back a sob, I heard M'Baku say," Are you really this worked up over him?"

   I ignored M'Baku and said to him,"Will you please just..just go away? I don't want to hear t..that right now, M'Baku. I..I just lost one of my f..friends."

   M'Baku walked up behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist. I immediately turned around and leaned on him.

   M'Baku rubbed my back and softly said,"Y/N, you're too beautiful for this. I'm sorry for what I said. Hey.."

   I buried my face in his neck, and M'Baku kissed my forehead multiple times.

   I sniffed and said,"Darling, are you going to help them?"

   M'Baku looked down at me and said,"No. Why should I?"

   I said,"Because Wakanda just lost their king. Now, they probably have someone else already. We have to help them."

   M'Baku placed a kiss on my lips and mumbled,"You always want to help others, but this is not my fight. It's his fight, and I won't be a part of it."

   I frowned and pulled away from M'Baku, who sent me a look of confusion.

   I said to him,"And I won't stand here and not do anything, while you do the same. I love you and no one will take your place, but this has everything to do with you. If Wakanda falls, you will fall right with it. If you get in my way, I don't care whether we're together or not, I won't hold back."

   M'Baku pulled me back and sighed saying,"Okay, N/N. Don't do that to me. I am afraid of you, so just follow me."

   I laughed and M'Baku just smiled, as I held onto his arm. He led me to one of the other rooms, before my eyes filled with more tears.

   I buried my face back in M'Baku's arm, and he said,"No. He's not dead, but there's no way either one of us can take him out of that. He'll die, then."

   I let out a sigh of relief at seeing T'Challa again, even though he seemed to be in a coma or something. I wasn't sure what was going on with him, but M'Baku said there was still hope to bring T'Challa back.

   As I looked down at T'Challa, M'Baku said,"You know I was joking when I said I was afraid of you, right?"

   I rolled my eyes and answered,"Right and I know if you keep doing that, you're going to be alone for the rest of your life. It's not funny, M'Baku. Not funny at all."

   M'Baku frowned and said,"Hey.."

   I said,"What? Just keeping it real, baby. Just keeping it real."

   M'Baku led me out of the room and sat back down on his throne.

   M'Baku noticed my hand and said,"Can I.."

   I smiled, and M'Baku held my hand.

   He placed a couple of kisses on it ,and I said,"I'm sorry if I offended you. I was just playing around with you."

   M'Baku placed another kiss on my hand and my lips saying,"I know. I know. Looks like we have guests."

   I turned and Ramonda, Shuri, Nakia, and and a Caucasian man I had not had the opportunity to have met yet.

   I immediately got off of M'Baku's lap and greeted Nakia, Shuri, and Ramonda.

   Shuri hugged me, and I hugged her back whispering to her,"I'm sorry I wasn't there."

   Shuri held on to the hug, and I slowly pulled away, squeezing her shoulder.

   I held out my hand for the man and kindly said,"I'm Y/N. That guy over there is M'Baku; he's my boyfriend."

   He chuckled and M'Baku said in a joking manner,"No I'm not. I'm a friend. We're not together."

   I smiled and the man shook my hand saying,"Agent Ross. It is nice to meet you. I'm uh..with them."

   I chuckled and nodded, before I stood beside M'Baku's throne chair. He pulled me to the arm of the chair, and I sat down on it.
   I took his hand and Ramonda, Shuri, Nakia, and Agent Ross bowed to M'Baku, offering him a gift. The gift was a heart-shaped flower, which glowed purple. I was familiar with the flower, because I had seen them before.

   It could be what brought T'Challa back. M'Baku held onto my hand, as I led everyone to T'Challa. I smiled seeing how relieved they were, but then Ramonda used the herb for T'Challa.
  I turned around, along with M'Baku. Agent Ross looked lost, but he did turn around too.

   I laughed and sent him a smile, before M'Baku asked me,"Y/N, marry me?"

   I thought I was hearing my own thoughts out loud, but M'Baku repeated to me,"Y/N, marry me?"

   I looked at him and asked him,"Are you serious? Right now?"

   M'Baku frowned, and Agent Ross looked between the two of us.

   I wrapped my arms around M'Baku's neck and stroked his cheek saying,"Sure. Why not? I'd love to marry you."

   M'Baku smiled and kissed me, before I kissed him back. When M'Baku pulled away, I gave him two more kisses and he placed a beautiful ring on my finger.
His timing was a little weird and surprising, but I would take it.

   T'Challa sprung up and looked around at everyone, before I said,"Look who it is. Look, T'Challa, how do I break this down to you? Well, I guess I'll give you the short version. Erik took your kingdom, most of your resources are gone, and it looks like you won't get your kingdom back. You've been out for 4 years. You missed everything. It's too late to save anything."

   T'Challa immediately looked panicked, yet he said,"Wait a minute..Y/N, are you lying?"

   M'Baku laughed and said,"Your face held quite the expression. Nice one, Y/N."

   I bowed, and T'Challa shook his head at me saying,"That was quite cruel of you, Y/N, but it is very good to see you."

   I smiled at T'Challa and said,"You, too, T'Challa, you too. M'Baku missed you as well. He cried the whole time."
