"Sir!" I yelled, my hand instantly on my forehead in a salute.
My commanding officer nodded at me. Colonel Roy David. He was as plain as could be when it came to looks. He was about 6ft with brown eyes and brown hair. But in the power department... I had never seen it first hand but there were rumors of him being a flame alchemist. An extremely powerful being.
I dragged my eyes away, and watched the doors slowly open. I squared my shoulders, and watched them March in the poor victims of this round. Most people who believed in this war had volunteered back when the first uproar started. These were all poor pathetic souls who opposed the war and thought they would win.
"She's loose!" A voice called.
Before I could even ask what, a blurry blue light shot up from the crowd. A girl floated in mid air, her eyes wild.
"You." Her voice was dripping with malace as she stared at the colonel. "You're the reason we're all here!"
Little blue blurry light shot down, straight at the colonel. I could feel him smirk.
Sir, would you like me to handle her? I asked.
I watched him give a slight nod, and with that I was in front of him, sword drawn. Little blue ball wasn't expecting that, clearly by her shocked expression.
"I highly suggest you put you surrender or the arrogance will be paid with your life." I stated.
The girl looked at me. Bright blue hair was covered in leafs, and dirt. Her face and arms and legs smeared in mud. I looked down and directly into the girls eye, which were a beautiful purple I had never seen before, but behind those, was nothing but wild instinct. A wilding is what the text book called them. Faeries that live in the woods, most of them had amazing magic power with spells that had been lost for years. It's rumored to be that a faerie still has destruction magic active.
But again, that's a rumor. I reminded myself."God, I can't stand you!" The blue haired girl shrieked.
I watched as she lunged for me. I stepped aside with ease, which just made her look even more angry and wild. I sighed, more with annoyance then anything else.
"Is this why you had me do this group of wildlings? Because you knew about this girl?" I asked my captain.
He again, gave the slightest nod.
The little Wildling lunged for me this time, and actually managed to create a rip in my military jacket. I stared at the hole in my jacket for just a moment, before I stared down the little wild girl.
"I've had enough." I growled.
I closed my eyes as a faint green ring flooded the floor around me, causing my clothing to change into armor, and with it, my weapons as well. The light faded and the Wildling stared, absolutely paralyzed. I now stood infront of her in the complete set of armor known as the Magic Angel.
"How- that armor had been lost for years.." the little Wilding was visably shaking. "My father destroyed it!"
"Oh that makes so much more sense." I admitted, raising my hand as a fury of swords raised to my side.
Her father must of been a long faerie, the one who destroyed this armor years ago when it was used to almost destroyed their very forests. Back when they tried to exterminate the faeries. You see, the magic in the armor is embued so no magic will hurt the wearer.
"I think this has been drawn out enough." I smiled, exposing my long canine teeth at her.
"You're also..." The wilding went totally pale.
I pushed my finger forward and the swords fell on her like a heavy rain. I didn't aim to kill her or I would, instead it made her fall totally to the ground and be pinned via her hands and right shoulder. I covered my nose as faerie blood stained the ground.
"Lieutenant Crimson that is more than enough!" the Colonel yelled.
I looked up at him, and shrugged. "She thought she could fight me, truly was a pathetic joke. I just showed her whom she was really screwing with."
"dismissed, lieutenant."
I nodded and stepped back as guards began yanking the swords out and taking her to medical bay. My armor faded, and my ripped coat I laid over my arm. My eyes followed the trail of faerie blood out of the room.
"Johnson!" I bellowed.
A tiny skinny little nerdy human jumped and ran over in the blink of an eye. "Yes Lieutenant Crimson?"
I pointed to the mess. "Clean it up before it stains. "
****A knock at the door caught my attention, causing me to look up from my book. I placed it on my nightstand and walked over. Checking the peep hole, the Colonel stood in front of my door.
Weird...
I opened the door, and he looked at me. His brown eyes ran over my body, his face going slightly red.
"Sir?" I asked, confused.
"I- uh, I apologise. It's so rare to see you out of uniform, I sometimes forget what a beautiful woman you are." He smiled at me.
I felt my face get hot a little before I cleared my throat. "Now now, sir. I truly don't think you made your way all the way out here to admire my curves."
"No, I did not. But I definitely should make a house call for that." He smiled at me.
I knew the Colonel had a crush on me, but it wasn't appropriate given our stances with the military.
"I thought you might want to know that the girl you shish-kabob'd would be just fine."
"I knew she would. I didn't hit anything fatal." I stated.
He didn't want to tell me about the little wild faerie. There was something more.
"I can tell by your face that you're a bit confused for me being here, the truth is..."
He stepped in, and shut the door behind him, locking it.
"The enemy has moved. I think you should still consider moving closer to the base..."
I rolled my eyes. "It won't happen."
I enjoyed my silence and isolation. After being betrayed like I have... No. Now is not the time. Not with the Colonel here.
"You do realize how dangerous is is here, don't you?" He asked.
I shrugged, I was well aware. I lifted my pocket watch, with my dog of the military stamp on it: a small bat with a Wiccan symble under him. Everyone's watch was different but it all stood for one thing, dog of the military.
"I didn't get this for just hiding away under the military watch. I made myself known. I am the Crimson Queen."
The colonel smiled at me, nodded and left. I sighed and mindlessly watched him leave from a window. Oh how different this all would be if the world wasn't in jeapordy.
