Chapter 3 - Sleepover

Pov Courtney
    Driving home I was scared. Scared of what would happen if Jake was home. Scared of what he would do if I wasn't home at all today. Scared of him. I don't want to be hurt anymore. I need to end it but I don't know how.
    Thankfully when I got home Jake wasn't there so I hurried to get all my stuff. I wasn't sure if I would stay with Damien tonight or not. Just in case I packed a bag quick. I grabbed clothes for tonight and tomorrow for work. I stuff all my makeup in a small bag and threw it in my backpack. I grabbed my toothbrush and things to shower because I knew I needed to but I wanted to get out of here as soon as possible. I made sure I had all my chargers and everything I may need. I think I'm good.
    As I was driving to Damien's I decided to stop and get something for him to thank him. I stop and grab some cookies from a bakery on my way there. They were fresh and I hope he likes them. They rest of the drive was quite and it was just music quite in the background and I was focused on the directions. So enough I got to his apartment and found myself hesitating knocking. What happens if Jake gets mad and comes to find me? I hope not because in the middle of thinking my body took over and was knocking on his door.
    "Hey there, come on in" he said opening his house to me. It was nice. He had a few video game stuff here and there. It looked nice warm and inviting.
    "Thank you. I really mean that. Thank you I needed to get away from my place for a little bit" I said meaning every word. I was grateful.
    "So I have Netflix and some video games we can play while we wait for dinner" he said walking to the living room. I hesitate to set my stuff down for a minute thinking of what to do with it. "Oh um here let me get your bag" he said taking it and placing it softly on a small chair in the corner.
    "Thank you" I said. I didn't know what to do so I sat stiffly on his couch. Then two fuzzy little cats jump on me. They are so cute. I pet them for a while.
    "So whatcha wanna do" he asked going back to want he told me we could do before dinner.
    "Do you have any mario games" I asked wanted to play some video games.
    "Of course I do" he said getting up and get mario cart ready for us to play. We played for what felt like forever when there was a knock at the door. I looked at my phone and it had only been an hour and a half.
    "I present our dinner" he said dramatic bringing pizza plates and drinks. We ate and joked around with game of thrones playing in the background but we didn't play much attention to it. I liked being around Damien. Soon it was getting late and we have work tomorrow so we decided to go to bed. And he took me to his guest room.
    "The bathroom is across the hall so you can shower if you want" he said. He left and I grabbed my stuff to shower. I didn't want to take a long one since I was at his house not mine. I was in and out in about 15 minuets. I had brought my clothes with me to the bathroom but soon saw I forgot a shirt.
    "Shit" I said quite. I wrapped the towel around me and walked to Damien's room embarrassed. "He Damien I said poking my head around his door making sure he can't see my body.
    "Hey what's up" he said looking up and I saw him blushing slightly.
    "I forgot a shirt to sleep in" I said blushing like crazy to.
    "Oh okay here" he walked to a dresser and pulled out a large shirt to big for me up I didn't care. He handed to me.
    "Thank you" I said turning around quickly and walking fast back to the bathroom. I changed quickly and saw his shirt was so big on me it covered my shorts I was wearing.
    I sat in the guest room trying to fall asleep and soon I did but was woken up quickly by shaking.
    "Courtney are you okay I heard a scream" I saw Damien holding my shoulders. I sat up and rubbed my eyes.
    "Yeah just a bad dream" I said to him shaking slightly because it was about Jake.
    "Oh okay if your okay I'll go and let you sleep" he said standing up and started to walk away.
    "Wait. Will you.. um.. Will you stay with me" I asked softly. He turned around.
    "Yeah of course" said and came and lad next to me. We sat in silence for a minute.
    "Damien what do I do? About my boyfriend" I asked quietly almost a whisper.
    "I think you should leave him. But also fallow your heart" he said. I started to cry a little. He pulled me close to him holding me and trying to get me to stop. "Shhh it's okay Courtney I got you" he said and soon I fell back asleep with him holding me.

I think I'm starting to have feelings for him.
