Some Things Never Change

Jas'Marie, * kick and twist and uh and 5,6 and 7, and 8, yo, i nailed that, i hope Jawan saw that*

Jawan is my dance teacher, I'm Jas'Marie, I'm 10 and my dad owns this dance studio and he knows i love to dance, I've been dancing since i was 3, that's when i started dance class. I was always  in a more advanced class for my age group, right now im in the group for 11 year old, When i'm older i wanna be a professional dancer

Jawan: Jassy, Kick your foot up higher when you hit that step, like this * demonstrates the move* Common lets see it

I did the move again but this time perfectly, right when  was about to stop Jawan told me to continue , so i continued the rest of the routine that we have been practising for a month now

I was getting to the part where you needed a partner , so Jawan told Craig Crippen,  one of my dance mates to help with the routine, So we did the routine and everybody clapped

Jawan: Jassy, Craig that was amazing! Bravo. Now every body take a seat i have an announcement to make

Everybody does as he says. As i was walking over to the rest of the group, Craig leaned in and kissed me on the cheek and said;

Craig: That was really good, well you know for a kid

I was the youngest in the class, clearly, i was the only 10 year old and everybody used to make fun of me because i was young that is until they all realised i was a better dancer then them anyways Craig was always calling me a kid, but i didn't mind, considering i consider him an elderly

Jassy: yea well you wern't bad yourself , you know for an elderly

We took a seat and Jawan announced that for our End of Session dance, which we have every year we preform a routine for the entire city and we usually have pretty big crowds, since our dance studio is the biggest there are a lot of dance managers and talent scouts that come and watch , but during theses dances they usually put the older kids as lead so that they will have  more of a chance, Jawan continued.

Jawan: I know that all of you know , i give you this speech every year,  for the performance the 16 year old will be lead but this class, this group is very talented so what I'm going to do is bump the 15 year old group down and bump you guys up for background dancers not only for the 16 year old but for the 2 lead dancers just so you know people get to the the young talent we have.

 The night of the show

Craig and i were backstage getting into costume 

Craig: Jas'Marie, were friends right?

Jas'marie: uh yea, why?

Craig: because i tried out for this audition for a boy group and i made it and I'm moving to LA and I'm not coming back and i don't think I'm gonna see you again

Jas'Marie: WHOA , so you' re going to be famous?!? , oh congrats, and good luck, don't worry about me I'm gonna be just as famous as you. Before you know it, we're both gonna up there competing over number one on the charts

Craig:  aha thanks

Craig and I laughed and preformed the show, little did i know i was wrong.
