It was starting to get dark and the sky lit up with another blast. I reached the girls as they both got off the pegasus. The girl rushed over to me and slapped me right on my face. I put my hand on my cheek.
"What was..." I was cut off."Don't you ever worry me like that again," She yelled. "I thought..." She paused. "Nevermind".
"You're the one who left me alone on a Pegasus. I told you I don't know how to ride one."
"Well your the boy who has never ridden a horse before."
Valcura let out a small laugh.
I turned to her, "who's side are you on anyway?"
She laughed again then responded "My lady's of course."
"Well just so you little girls know, not everyone on earth owns a horse."
Valcura's smile instantly went away. She turned toward the girl as did I. Her hand making contact with my face once again. "Ow"
"I'm not a little girl." She said quietly.
I became a little confused. I was just joking and I know she's not a little girl. Shes a couple inches shorter then me and I'm 5'11". I turned to Valcura to silently ask why she was so mad at my comment. She just looked at me and said nothing. The Pegasus I was riding neighed and the girl rushed over to it. I followed as Valcura tied her Pegasus to one of the trees.
The girl began to stroke its neck. And moved her hand in an unusual motion along the side of the pegasus. "What's wrong Flora?", she asked the pegasus. The Pegasus neighed and then lifted up its right wing. I could see blood running along the inside of its wing. The girl turned to me and took a deep breath. "The enemy's lance cut through her wing. She won't be able to fly for a few weeks. Let Valcura know and tell her to help me bandage her up."
I nodded and ran over to Valcura. Valcura reached into her saddle, pulled out a few apples and was feeding her Pegasus. As I approached she looked over to me. "Fora is injured and she has asked you to help her bandage Fora up."
She grabbed a few things out of her bag. And rushed over to the girl. A small smile grew on her face as she passed me. "It's Flora by the way."
"That's what I said."
"No its not."
"Yes...." I began as She left my view. That is what I said isn't it. What ever. I turned to Valcura's Pegasus. "What's your name", I asked, stroking is neck.
It raised its head and neighed.
"Well..." I neighed. "I'm sure that's a wonderful name."
I heard someone laughing behind me. "So now your talking to animals."
I turned around. Odelius and Dalabar were walking toward me with their pegai behind them. Dalabar was a bit beaten, yet he was still smiling at Odelius' comment.
"I was... I was just..."
"Talking to a pegasus?" Odelius cut in. They both started laughing. "Pegai have no sense when it comes to us humans talking. They only know how to respond to what they see, smell and feal."
"Are they deaf?"
Dalabar chuckled and Odelius laughed, "Oh they can hear you. They just don't understand you, let alone care about what your saying."
I began to feel very stupid. "Well, why is it the girl talks to her's?"
Dalabar replied, "The young lady can do what every she pleases."
"So it's not normal to talk to a Pegasus?"
Dalabar's smile grew. "Not in the least. Now tell me boy. Where is the young lady?"
I pointed them to her direction. "She's with Valcura patching up Flora."
They tied their Pegai to the trees and the three of us walked over to where the girls were at.
We met them and the girl instantly threw the bandages at Dalabar. He caught them and began to unwrap them.
"Our army back at the school should be able to hold off their's for a few more minutes. So bandage yourself up. Your bleeding all over."
"Yes my lady."
Dalabar sat down and began to pull off his armor. The girl was right. He had blood running down his left arm.
Also along the side of his body. It looked bad.
Dalabar looked at me. "It's not as bad as it looks. I'll be fine."
Odelius sat down on a small log. He then closed his eyes and began mumbling to himself.
The girls were giggling as they finished patching up Flora. I looked at the girl and her smile lifted my spirits. Her smile was kind of cute, I thought. She began to look at me. So I quickly turned away. Not wanting her to see me staring.
Odelius stood up, his face filled with fear. "Thank you for the message."
"My lady, we've got a serious problem.""What is it Odelius?"
"Our scout at the school just delivered to me a message. His message is as follows:
I apologize for my failer in not delivering this message sooner. I was surrounded and my communication was being blocked by the enemy. Now that they have left, my communication has been restored. Odelius, there is something you must know. Within 1 hour after you guys left the school with the new Guardian. A dark entity showed up and obliterated our entire Army. Right after doing so, the dark entity took off into your direction. If it is what I believe it to be, it will catch up to you guys within minutes. What ever you do. Do not stop. Just run and don't look back."
