Can't Fail Them All

Some time has pasted, and Renesmee was starting to get used to living alone. Her life was pretty much the same as any other normal young adult, she had a job, a car, and just enough of everything to be satisfied with her life in a small town such as Forks.

Every morning for the last couple of months, she would get up at half past seven, take a shower, get dressed and drive to the boutique she worked in.

The job was quite monotone, it consisted of helping the customers and charge the things they had bought. She did not mind that the girl rarely needed her assistance, she was quite happy for them actually. Girls had style, and that was what mattered. She was surrounded by clothes, and the girl adored fashion.

So yes, she loved her job.

Every day, after work, Renesmee would receive a phone call from her friend Jacob. He would ask her weather she was okay, how was her day, and would she mind if he stopped by to say hi and just see her.

She found this adorable, but still, there was this nagging voice at the back of her head saying that Jacob is only doing this because of the imprinting bond. She tried to shut it out, not to mind her paranoid self, thinking that it must be the result of her constant traumas, so she ignored it.

As the time passed, she found herself spending more and more time at the La Push beach with the pack. Although they were suppose to be her natural enemies, she found herself becoming a very important part of the family. The boys, probably subconsciously, filled her in on the news and discoveries about the Forks population's safety, as if she was one of their own sisters.

Anyhow, she was still trying to find a way into the city of New Orleans. She was well aware tat Marcel has taken over the city, and that there was no way of just walking in as a tourist. She was a Mikaelson after all.

She was a Mikaelson.

Oh, how good it felt to finally being surrounded by her own family. She was going to bring that back for herself.

She had the maps of the city scattered on the table of the Cullen Residence study, where she has spent most of the evenings. Her family needed to be reunited on the sacred grounds of the city her father built years ago.

She heard of Hayley Marshal, who was raising the youngest Mikaelson, Hope, hidden from the world's curious eyes. She would grow up without knowing of her father. It was really tragic. Renesmee tried to persuade Hayley to visit her in Forks, but she refused. The half human half vampire could still hear her words clearly in her memories.

Hiding two Mikaelsons would be very hard.

When it came to Malachai Parker, the young vampire spent her days over the copy of her grandmother's grimoire, one the little things that she managed to bring with her that night from the Mikaelson Manor.

It would be easier to bring Kai back to the land of living if his body was in the real world, but, due to the unfortunate events, it wasn't. It was in the 1903 prison world, which was a complication enough. In order to get him out of there, she needed the Ascendant, that was out of limits, given that it was shattered in pieces. Even if it was whole, she needed a Gemini to do the spell, and she was not really buddy- buddy with them either.

But, still, she was not going to give up. Every night, she flickered the pages of the centuries old book, hoping to find her way back to the life she once had.

Renesmee groaned at her eyes slowly closing due to the fatigue, just a moment more, I can't fail them. I can't fail them all.

Just the wake up call she needed, her phone was heard. The ringtone was loud, making her senses sharpen, her attention full on the device laying on the desk beside the grimoire.

The ID displayed the name, making her breath get stuck in her throat.

"Stefan?"
