You sigh happily as you settle into the lounge chair by the pool. The sun is out, the weather is perfect, and you're on a cruise for the first time in your life. You've worked your ass off for the past three years to save up for this two-week vacation, and couldn't be happier. As you open your book to read as you soak up the sun, you hear 6 rowdy guys making their way to the pool. Sighing, you put your headphones in to drown them out. And that's when it happens. They all run and dive into the pool right in front of you. Five of them are careful to avoid splashing you, but the youngest one of them doesn't even notice you're there and cannon balls it, drenching you, your book, and your MP3 player in water. They all freeze and look at you when the others start berating him for being a jerk. You just gather your things and leave, heading back to your cabin to change and dry out your book. Luckily the MP3 player sustained no damage and you crank your music because you hear Captain Jerk calling to you from behind. He had climbed out of the water and followed you so he could apologize. You had no interest in what he had to say at the moment because he had just ruined your favorite novel. As you put the key in your door, he catches up to you and puts a hand on your shoulder. You whip around, yank your headphones out and say "What?" Taking a step back, he rubs the back of his neck and says "I just wanted to tell you I'm sorry. I didn't mean to splash you, I just wasn't paying attention." "Clearly." You state, annoyed. He looks at the ground and shuffles his feet, and looks absolutely adorable. You find yourself staring at him, admiring his toned muscles and strong features before remembering you're mad at him. He looks back up at you, genuine remorse in his eyes and he says "How can I make it up to you?" You ponder this question. "I'll do anything you want," he adds. "Anything, eh?" you respond. "Anything." He confirms. "Fine," you say. "You can buy me dinner." He smiles. "You got it," he says, offering a handshake. You shake his hand and he starts to leave, but before he can you say "I never got your name." He says "My name is Hyuk." You nod and head into your room and he leaves. That evening you meet him at the little restaurant for the dinner he owes you. As you sit down to eat, you notice all of the other girls there staring at him and whispering amongst themselves. Hyuk looks uncomfortable and avoids them and instead chooses to focus on you. "What's with them?" You say. Hyuk shrugs, "Who knows?" he says turning to his food. "Do you want to go somewhere less populated?" you offer. He shakes his head. "No, it's fi—" he's cut off by some giddy, squealing girl coming up and asking for his autograph and a picture, which he gives her. "You're quite popular." You say smiling. "You have no idea..." he says, trailing off before poking his neglected entrée. You cock your head to the side, slightly puzzled but choose to let it go. After you finish your meal, he offers to walk you back to your cabin. Instead, you guys take a stroll around the ship and stop in a secluded spot, leaning on the rails and looking out over the water. After a few moments of silence, he catches you staring at him and smiles a big cheesy grin. You blush and look away and he laughs softly but can tell you feel shy and awkward suddenly. To break the ice, he pulls out his phone and starts playing music. And that's when it happens. He starts singing along and when his voice hits your ears it all becomes clear. "Oh my god." You say, eyes wide. "What?" he asks, looking at you with curious eyes. You look at him like he's stupid and say "HellOOO! Now I know why those girls were acting the way they were. You're—" he cuts you off. "Don't say it. I know who I am. I was wondering how long it was going to take before you said something." You look at him, half bewildered before turning away again, red-faced. "Oh come on. My face isn't that ugly, is it?" he asks, amused. You laugh and look back up at him, and see a little twinkle in his eyes. You say "I'm sorry I yelled at you and made you buy me dinner..." He laughs. "Made me? Who made me? No, sweetie, I wanted to. I mean, yeah I felt horrible that I ruined your book and I wanted to make it up to you, but honestly I was going to take you to dinner anyway...or at least try. I mean, you're gorgeous." Your cheeks turn red at his words and yet another smile creeps onto his lips. Out of the blue, he kisses your cheek and says "come on. I think they still have some movies playing this late. Let's go catch one." And offers his arm to you before you make your way to the theatre on board.
