That night, the darkness turned into light. My eyes opened up, and I was awake.
I was laying in a hospital bed. There was an IV tube in my arm. There was also an oxygen tube across my face.
A lamp was lit up in the room. I looked over, and saw Steve sleeping on the couch, that was in the room. He was in his Captain America uniform.
"Steve" I said, softly.
My voice was low, because of the oxygen tube. Steve still slept on the couch. I needed to speak a little louder.
"Steve" I said, a little louder.
Steve immediately woke up, when he heard my voice. He looked over and saw me awake. He jumped up from the couch, and ran to my side.
"Jessy, you're awake" Steve said, happily.
"You came for me, and saved me" I said.
Of course my love, I will always save you" Steve said.
Steve place his hand on my cheek, and stroked it.
"I thought I had lost you" Steve said.
"You won't ever lose me" I said.
Steve gave me a kiss. The kiss woke me up some more. Then, my parents walked into the room.
"Oh thank god, you're awake" My mom said.
"How are you feeling?" My dad asked.
"Just fine" I said.
All of the Avengers came into the room. They were all happy to see me awake and feeling better.
A couple hours later, everyone had left the room. Steve stayed with me in the room.
"I love you, Jessy" Steve said to me.
"I love you too, Steve" I said to him.
Steve kissed me again, and stroked my hair. He was happy that I was awake and healing up.
"Wake me up if you need anything, my love" Steve said.
"I will, babe" I said.
Steve kissed me goodnight. I was happy to see Steve, and to be kissing him.
"Goodnight, my love" Steve said.
"Goodnight, my handsome" I said.
Steve went back to the couch. He turned off the light, covered himself up with a blanket, and went to sleep. I fell asleep in the hospital bed. I was glad to see Steve. I had missed him. He saved my life, and I knew he would always protect me.
