Song of the Chapter: Am I Pretty?, The Maine

After the show, the group returned to one of their only hotels they'd see the entire three month tour. Eva threw her bags in Brendon's room and fell face first on the bed, not even realizing more people walked in until they started talking incredibly loud. They must have not noticed Eva either. Someone went to sit on Eva's bed, leaving them to scream and jump up before laughing. "Hey, Patrick" she joked as she looked up and laughed along. "Get dressed, we're going swimming" he said through chuckles. Eva was immediately terrified. She followed orders, pulling on a bathing suit then a long sleeved sweatshirt cover-up and a pair of athletic shorts, before walking out of the bathroom and seeing Brendon, dressed and waiting. "Ready, kid?" he asked happily as they locked their room and met everyone in the hallway.

When everyone got down to the pool, it was crowded with families, all with little kids jumping and learning to swim. Eva looked around worriedly. She didn't want to scare anyone, especially kids just trying to have a good time. Eva put her stuff down at a table before scanning the area to see where everyone was. All of FOB was trying to push nearly all of Panic! in the pool, Dan standing behind to film it instead of help. Tyler and Josh swam laps around, laughing at the struggle. Gerard sat on the edge, feet dangling in the water as he just shook his head and laughed as well. "Come on, Eva!" Pete yelled while using nearly all of his strength against Dallon. She giggled then walked over to Gerard, sitting next to him and dangling her feet in as well.

They all sat there for awhile, talking and joking, occasionally pushing one another in. "Are you ever getting in?" Dallon asked Eva while splashing her dad in the face. She shrugged and tried to just ignore the question. Everyone was looking to her for her response, but she didn't want to keep talking about this to all of them. It was her own insecurity, and every band member knew enough about it to last six tours. "I have to call Theo, I'll be back soon." she said, changing the subject then preparing to stand before quickly splashing Brendon and Dallon in the face with her feet before getting up and sprinting to the table. They were all chattering again, except Brendon who made eye contact with his daughter as she ran from the pool area. The two looked at each other as Eva shook her head to herself and mouthed 'I'll be fine' to the man across the patio before running inside to be alone.

Eva found a small closed off lobby area that was empty. She sat down on a couch and dialed Theo's number rapidly. "Hey babe," he answered groggily. "Fuck, I woke you up. I'm sorry, go back to sleep." Eva glanced at the time seeing it was nearly 2 am in Florida, meaning it was 11 there. Theo shook his head as he thought of his reply. "No, no, it's okay. No big deal. What's up?" He knew she wouldn't have called unless she needed someone to lean on, and that was much more important then sleep. He heard Eva sigh deeply. "All the guys are swimming and want me to join, but I'm not ready to just be that exposed, especially when they're still obvious. Plus, there are little kids everywhere." Theo nodded and breathed out worriedly. "E, I wish I was there with you right now. To hold you and tell you it'll be okay. But, you don't have to do anything you don't feel comfortable doing. Just remember, no one else should determine what you do and don't do." Now Eva nodded, feeling a tear escape her eye as she tried to calm down. "I love you Theo." Theo replied "I love you too Eva. Go show 'em what you're made of kid." She laughed and breathed out "Thank you. Go back to sleep, talk to you tomorrow." With that he hung up and Eva sat in that lobby for God knows how much longer, just trying to get the nerve to stand up. Brendon's hand interrupted her.

"I'm fine, Dad." Eva said, wiping the loose tear quickly before standing up and facing Brendon. "You sure?" She nodded before responding "Yea, I just don't want to get in the pool. I'm not ready." It took Brendon a minute to understand, but when it did he smiled a small smile and wrapped an arm around his daughter before looking her in the eyes. "It takes time, don't worry." Eva smiled back and hugged him before walking back out to the pool. She sat in her spot next to Gerard for the rest of the night, smiling.

The buses were back on the road, driving only an hour or two to the next Florida stop. That was their last night there before driving to the next state. The venue was huge, and the crowd was ecstatic. Everything went better then any band member could of hoped for in the last show there. Gerard left after to return to his normal life, hugging Eva tightly outside of the buses and giving her his phone number, just in case. Everything moved on for weeks with no outstanding issues. All of it seemed to be looking up for the bands, and Eva specifically. Only one month of tour left, spending one more week in the US before leaving the country to go to Europe for the final leg, and Eva couldn't help but fear it all crashing down.
