I dropped my styrofoam cup as my gaze shifted from the floor to him, causing my friends to jump back. The soda spread on the hardwood floor, making a transparent puddle of Sprite. "Nora, what the hell!" Stacy screamed. She picked up the can and threw it away in the nearby trashcan. My focus returned to the spilled soda that was now seeping into cracks of the dark wooded ground.
"Shit! I'm sorry Stacy, I was distracted," I apologized. I ran into her kitchen and grabbed some paper towels out of the cabinent. Weaving through the crowds of people, I returned back to my group of friends.
“There can't be any messes, you know how royally screwed I will be if my parents find out their 'good' child threw a party while they were gone?!” Stacy whispered.
Her parents, as strict as they were, left her alone the entire week because of their Anniversary trip to Hawaii. Stacy was the “good” child compared to her older sister, who got pregnant at the age of 16 and moved into her boyfriends house once she was 18. Her older sister was frowned apon by her wealthy relatives, so she stresses constantly about being perfect.
"Guys I would of been distracted too.." Iris giggled as she nodded her head toward the pool table. There, a boy was leaning over the table with a pool stick, aiming for a green striped ball. He had a mop of curly brown hair with piercing green eyes, and a smile that went from ear to ear, showing his perfect teeth and dimple. He was definitely muscular and toned. The bottom of his shirt was rising as he leaned in closer, showing his toned stomach.
"Oh shut up." I retorted as I wiped up the soda puddle. I kept glancing back at him though; a smile spread across his face as the ball sank into the hole of the pool table.
"Nora, you said you would tell us everything, have you two hooked up before" Iris persisted.
As I stood back up, Stacy looked Iris in the eyes. "Nora? Hooking up with him? That's funny since she's never kissed a guy before, let alone being intimate with one" A Smile spread across her face, as she sipped from a syrofoam cup.
"I don't know what your thinking Iris, I don't know him, honestly. Oh and thanks Stacy?!" I stated pissed.
Iris rolled her eyes and looked at Stacy. "Oh my God, well if you won't go talk to him I surely will, because I've seen him at school before, and the rumors seem to be true" She breathed, biting the bottom of her lip.
"What rumors?" I asked. Iris leaned in closer so no one could hear out of our group of three.
“Well, Ashley was dumped a month ago, and when that happened, a rumor circulated that she hooked up with Harry, and then he told her that it was just a one time thing, and he didn't want to be in a relationship!' Iris whispered, covering a laugh. “but you know, once a slut, always a slut, and Ashley cheated on her boyfriend, so I don't know what she was so upset about?” she stated plainly. I never really knew his name was Harry, But I knew of him. He was very popular and a year older, so I didn't talk to him much. Correction, I've never talked to him, let alone had any classes with him. He was in standard everything, except literature and history, while I was in honors everything. Except I think we have gym together, I can't remember, I don't pay attention. I've heard some rumors about him from Iris before; even by just looking at him you can tell the word player is written all over him with a capital “P”. I think what really attracts girls to him is his accent. He has a british accent that every girl in California swoons over. They act like he's royalty.
