I walked to the mail box, my hands damp with sweat.
'I hope you like it.' I thought.
Rain slowly began to fall as I placed the envelope into the mailbox. I couldn't risk him finding out it was I who wrote the letter. Well, it was more of a story than a letter.
Despite the rain, I smiled slightly.
'I hope you like it.'
The rain fell harder as I began to run home. It isn't the easiest running home in the pouring rain if you couldn't tell. Cars zoom by splashing puddles the size of ponds onto me. Reaching into my bag, I pulled out my small yet durable umbrella.
'I hope you like it.'
Everything about my idea was crazy. My friends didn't think so, but I did. My umbrella flew out if my hand as the winds picked up.
Looking back at his house, I saw James looking out his window. I couldn't tell if it was my imagination or if he really was there, but he wasn't after I blinked.
I had to cross the road in order to get back home. I had to check, just once more, if James was still there. Like the moron that I am, I looked back just once more as I crossed the street. He wasn't there.
Just then, I felt myself being pushed out of the way of the traffic by none other than James himself.
"What the hell do you think you're doing! You're going to get yourself killed!" James shrieked.
The look in his dark brown eyes was nothing but worry. His normally blone styled hair was currently darkened with dirt and all messy.
I didn't reply but I looked down at the ground.
"Thanks." I mumbled.
James's eyes softened and he handed me his jacket.
"You'll catch a cold." He said, avoiding my eyes.
I noticed that his face was flushed ever so slightly.
"I should go. I bet my parents aren't to happy with me right now- ACHOO!" I started.
"Just come inside and get warm first. No ones home so don't worry." He suggested.
"I-I mean, you don't have to but-" He stammered, his face going crimson.
"It's fine." I said with a small laugh.
James took my hand and escorted me across the busy street. Before entering however, I grabbed the mail for him.
'I hope you like it.'
As I handed James the mail, his hand gently brushed mine. My face flushed a little, and James didn't move his hand either.
The rain was still coming down, but I didn't care, and it didn't look like James did either. Slowly, James moved forward and he placed a warm hand on my face. We were looking each other square in the eye, his dark chocolate brown eyes melting my fear.
James and my face were so close i could feel his breath against my face. His smooth hand wiped rain from my face and closed the gap.
The kiss was a short sweet one but it got the message across.
Both of our faces were a crimson red and my face was very hot.
"Lets go inside." James said pulling back.
"I hope you don't catch my cold." I joked.
He just smiled that beautiful smile of his and pulled me in for a quick hug. We walked into his house and sat down on the couch. James started to go through the mail. The look on his face must've indicated that he found something interesting. I knew it was the story.
'I hope you like it.'
