"Shit. Will! Will! Get in here!" I screamed, kneeled on the floor. A few weeks had passed since feeling a bit sick. "Baby! You ok?" He said, joining me on the floor. Liquid was pouring on the floor from underneath me. Had my water broke? "Get-get me to the hospital" i shouted, nearly hyperventilating at this moment. "Ahhhhhh ok ok!" Replied Will, freaking out. He carried me out to the car and placed me on the backseat. I was going into labour. Within minutes, we arrived at the maternal unit. Will grabs one of the nurses and gets a wheel chair. Racing down a number of corridors, we finally get to our room where our baby was going to be born. Finally. Hours passed. The contractions had started, they were like agony. "You're doing fine baby, just keep breathing" Will said, holding my hand next to me. "It's happening! It happening! I need to push!" I cried, nearly cutting of circulation to his hand. A small nurse comes in and checks the diameter. 6mm. "Alright, we need to get to 7mm to deliver this baby. Have the gas and air to manage the contractions. I'll come back in in a few minutes and check again. You're doing so well!" She explained, giving a small, warming smile.
5 minutes later
The nurse came back in with a few other midwives, carrying blankets and hats and baby-grows. "Ok we're at 7mm, let's have this baby then" she says, smiling at me. "I love you" I whisper to Will. He leans over and pecks my lips, "let's do this, let's bring our baby into the world" He whispered back.
