"Frank here?" I toss my keys on the desk, peeling my leather jacket off and draping it over the chairs back rest before taking a seat.
David stays focused on the computer screen in front of him, clicking a pen relentlessly. "He is not, left not long after you did." He leans back, exhaling and throwing the pen towards his keyboard while glancing over to me. "Luckily for you."
My teeth clench, running a sweaty hand through my hair tearing past a couple of knots on the way. "What do you mean?"
"Caught your little performance back there, very good by the way. Very dramatic." David motions to the camera feeds, pursing his lips.
I sigh, tilting my head to the side and pressing my eyes shut. "Spare me." I lean forward while resting a hand over my face, not needing one of David's famous lectures.
He nods, pushing himself towards me in his chair, eyes lingering cautiously over me. "You want to talk about it?"
"Talking achieves jack shit." I push myself out of the chair, rejecting his offer immediately. Words have done nothing but come back to bite me in the ass up to this point.
"You're not gonna ask where he went?" David watches me as I make my way to the kitchen, grabbing for any whiskey I could find.
"Should I?" I unscrew the cap, bringing a glass up, before pausing momentarily. I set it back down, deciding against it and taking a drink straight from the bottle.
"I think so."
"Okay." I leave the cap and glass on the counter, walking back to David with the bottle in hand. "Where'd Castle go David?" I motion my arm everywhere mockingly, looking around the room.
He sighs, brushing past it and standing in front of me. "I found the bomber."
I nod, taking another drink and wiping my lips while turning away from him. "And Frank's going after him as we speak." A chuckle leaves my mouth as I step away, turning back and leaning against the desk. "Okay, so?"
"I think you should go help." The words sounded nervous leaving his mouth. David scratches the back of his head as I study him over.
"Frank can handle himself." My eyebrows furrow as David glances anywhere but my eyes. I step closer, pointing a finger from my hand holding the bottle at him. "You're hiding something."
"I'm not hiding anything Alexa, it's just-"
"Bullshit." My eyes glare into his, standing arms length ahead of him. "What aren't you telling me?" I press steadily stepping forward, inches away from him at this point.
"Look you and Frank are stronger together. And besides, I thought you couldn't take sitting on the sidelines while someone puts their life on the line for you." He shrugs weakly, taking a step back from me distancing himself.
I scoff, shaking my head while looking away from David. "He's out there putting his life on the line for Karen, understand that? Not my problem remember." The bottle meets my mouth as soon as the words leave it, taking another short swig.
David eyes the bottle, sighing and pinching the bridge of his nose. "Alexa come on, I heard everything you said to Sarah."
I step around him, shoving past his shoulder with a irritated scoff. "Didn't know what I was saying."
David pulls my arm back abruptly, forcing me to face him again. "You knew exactly what you were saying."
I push his grip off me, scowling up at him doing my best to control my anger this whiskey had only helped bring out of me."David just, back off okay?"
