When I woke up, my arm was draped over the bed and touching Scott's bare chest. I immediately got up and shook him. "Scott, time for work." He groaned and opened his eyes. I grabbed some black high waisted shorts and a white tee shirt. Scott got up and grabbed a button down top and black skinny jeans. I say "I'll get ready in the bathroom." He nods and I walk off. I change and grab my hair brush and makeup bag.
I walk back in and Scott is making the beds. I unplug the pixie lights and sit at my vanity and brush out my long brown hair, slowly. When all the knots are out and I'm left with a beach wave, I pop on some red lipstick that matches the apron I pull out of the drawer.
Scott comes up behind me, "Let me tie this for you."
He grabs the two strings as I move my hair and ties them snugly into a bow. "Thank you!" I say, sticking on my white Converse.
He smiled and said "Anything to help."
I smile and wave as I head downstairs. I smell coffee and syrup. I open the door to the kitchen and Pop says "Just sit at the counter, honey. There isn't anyone here yet, help yourself to some pancakes." I grabbed the plate and syrup container and squeeze some on top. I pour myself some coffee and put in milk and sugar. I sit down as Scott sits down beside me. He grabs a fork and dives into my stack. I roll my eyes and take a huge bite. Scott looks at me and takes a bigger bite. I do the same. We do this until the pancakes are gone. As I'm drinking my coffee, I listened to Scott babble on about how he won the battle.
When the first customer came in, I cut him off. "Gotta work, boss."
He sighed and stood up, "I guess I do too."
A family comes in and sits down. I look at the two small kids, the parents, and the baby. I grab a high chair and sit it down in front of the table. The dad sets the baby down and says "Oh! I thought I was going to have to ask!"
I laugh, "Some things go unsaid." He smiles and gets two pancakes for each kid, and I write it down. Then two orange juices. I nod and write it down. Then a black coffee, then a coffee, half cream, half coffee. And our largest order of pancakes. Then he adds four pieces of toast. The lady asks for a cup of milk for the baby. I nod and write it down. I walk away and give the paper to Pops, who is cooking. Then I pour two orange juices and coffee and the cream, fulfilling the order.
I put the drinks on a tray and pass them out amongst the table. Scott follows me to the table and pulls up a chair, chatting with the people. I over-hear "Your wife's performance is amazing. Would she be interested in babysitting?"
He shrugs, "I'm not sure, I'll ask her. Leave your number on the receipt."
I went to my other table and saw the classic morning after. I chuckled to myself. "Let me guess. Loads of coffee, toast, eggs, and a pancake?" They nodded. I poured large coffees and put a paper that said "2 large orders of eggs, 4 pieces of toast, and medium pancake." The families food was done, so I walked over. Scott remained still, but he smiled. I put the tray on his lap and handed out the pancakes to the kids, put down the large order of pancakes between the mom and dad and handed the mom a warm glass of milk. I sit by Scott.
"What's this cuties name?" I say with a smile, and point to the baby.
The mom replied, "Alishe." I nodded. The mom then continues, "Would you like to hold her?"
I said "Of course!" Then I picked her up and continued "What about these two?"
The dad replies "Aiden and Jane." I slowly nod, bouncing the baby.
After some small talk, I put the baby back. "Well, have a good meal, I'll be back with the bill."

They nodded and I went back to the kitchen and picked up the other couples meal and handed out hot coffee to them both, large waters, the eggs, toast and single pancake. I put down the syrup and say "I'll be back with the bill!" The man looks at me, nods, and smiles. I walk back and grab the papers back from the kitchen and bring them to the register, ringing up each couple. The family hands me a credit card and the couple hands me exact change. The family left their number on the receipt so I copied it down before putting it in our receipts cabinet. They also tipped 20 dollars. Their meal was 45. I was shocked and did a happy dance, pocketing the money. The couple also tipped ten. This would be fun!
