I am born - crying and kicking

I am 1 - starting to walk and talk

I am 2 - running and singing

I am 3 - proudly holding the baby

I am 4 - happy to play with friends

I am 5 - excited to start school

I am 6 - obsessed with reading

I am 7 - confused by my parents' divorce

I am 8 - competitive at school

I am 9 - determined to learn piano

I am 10 - embarrassed if someone "likes" me

I am 11 - awkwardly trying to fit in

I am 12 - sad that my best friend is moving

I am 13 - skipping the 8th grade bravely

I am 14 - swooning over my crushes

I am 15 - acting in school plays

I am 16 - amazed to be done with high school

I am 17 - swamped with college work

I am 18 - burning the candle at both ends

I am 19 - sick with mono

I am 20 - drunk, mostly

I am 21 - stressed by choices as I graduate

I am 22 - suffering from a broken heart

I am 23 - teaching and inspiring students

I am 24 - terrorized when my city is attacked and friends die in crumbling towers

I am 25 - falling blissfully in love

I am 26 - marrying and making a happy home

I am 27 - horrified to discover a tumor

I am 28 - a grateful mother of a healthy baby

I am 29 - confident about my parenting

I am 30 - harried with a toddler and a newborn

I am 31 - elated to finally pay off college loans

I am 32 - angry because our son has Autism

I am 33 - exhausted and always cleaning

I am 34 - concerned as my other son struggles

I am 35 - relieved by his Asperger's diagnosis

I am 36 - perpetually at school for meetings

I am 37 - marveling at my boys' progress

I am 38 - yearning for something more

I am 39 - writing

I am 40 - content

I am almost 41... a daughter, sister, friend, student, teacher, lover, wife, mother, writer...

I am many people.
I am many emotions.

I am many ages.
I am different stages.

I am a body.
I am a soul.

I am a heart.
I am a mind.

I am reality.
I am imagination.

I am rising.
I am falling.

I am old.
I am new.

I am what was.
I am what will be.

I am the space time continuum.
