Imprinting

One of the most confusing things about Werewolves is the Imprinting part:

There are two kinds of Imprints, the Visual Imprint and the Blood Imprint.

The Visual Imprinting process is a rare experience when a werewolf shifts for the first time, and usually imprints on the first being it sees. Usually, they imprint on their "soulmate," but if not.. when they do find their mate, the imprint will become weak, meaning the imprinter will still be close to whatever it imprinted on, but not in an intimate way.

The Blood Imprint is a much more... complicated process. This is when a werewolf tastes or bites a female with the intent of imprinting on her {marking her.} This bond is stronger than the Visual Imprint, but usually fades quicker. See, when the Imprinting first happens, every other wolf that's near, will become antsy and alert when around her. Her mate {or Imprinter} will be extremely sensitive and antsy as well, and extremely protective. These effects usually become weaker once the two have mated and made themselves known as mates, OR fade away {but not completely} after a long period of time.

Side Note:
Biting with the intent of imprinting on the female {or marking her} is different than tasting a females blood because the biting is usually intentional, the tasting of their blood is not. This is why most wolves are usually tense when female wolves are going through ovulation.
